I have my own ideas on how to repair this , but wonder if anyone els has had a problem similer to this. Hi Bashan, My jcl 250 a has all the bells and whistles, I use a small Deltran battery tender and never have had a problem with the stock Yusa batt.

OK thanks guys, yeah I had the sensor out to reposition the rubber gasket, my sensor is in the top middle of the tank, and the tank is mounted in front of the seat under the plastic cover, its actually bolted to the lower frame rail, even after resealing the gasket ,when I fill it up it will leak from somewhere around the sensor area, I think it may be the actual mounting ring thats part of the tank. This sensor dosnt bolt in, its like the older auto gas sensors with a round ring that compresses the seal when you turn it down, its like 3 wedges that go under 3 tabs ,the tabs are part of another ring that is likley welded to the tank itself. I think this is where its seeping from, but i have to wait to pull the tank compleatly out to really test it, OK will let ya no what I find when I do ,and thanks for the input poppajon, bye...

On the subject of valve adjustment, its a single cyl engine, why cant you , just adjust all 4 valves with the engine set to Top Dead Center on its compression stroke??? all valves MUST be closed at this time.

My jcl mp250-a had a fule milage problem, it turned to be the fuel tank retainer on the tank side I ripped all the side panels off and filed the tank, mine is a slow seeping leak that ya do not really smell. when it gets warmer out Im pulling the tank, ya have to remove the cooling fan!, and fill it to see where it from , then use jb-weld to seal it.

Scooterfan 70 Hi I have the same scoot , its the fuel evaporating out of the carb bowl , it will do it hot if ya let it sit a few hours it will do it cold if it sits a day or so. all ya can do is crank and putt at 10 second intervals, do not overtax your starter motor! it will run when the carb bowl fills up , An electric fuel pump would solve the problem as it will fill the carb bowl as soon as the key is turned on , I havent done the pump conversion yet , but gaurandarntee ya thats what it is

Mildew!

:oHi all poppajon again, I went out to run the scoot this afternoon and found Mildew starting on the backrest for the queenseat, on my jcl its mounted to the trunk. I keep my scoot under a nice nylon cover made for atv,s and its outside under the carport. I think when it rains the moisture when evaporating collects at the highest point, and before it does dry out it can start mildew on your vinyl!. I just cleaned it off with lysol all purpose cleaner and then put vinyl protectant on when dry. Thought Id pass this along. OK, Happy Holidays to ALL,
How ya doin Alley OOP, merry Christmas, bye Jon...
