I am running a 98 (maybe?) main jet, stock air box, stock idle jet (whatever that is, and it worked before), and my needle is not adjustable. The engine will die if I give it a quick twist of the throttle (or maybe recover). I just don't want it to die when I give it quick twists of throttle, unless this extra richness is making me go faster (I max out my speedometer regularly, I ride like a ban-chi in heat...). Also I probably shouldn't be able to remove the idle screw and still have it idle.

I've always had an issue where my scooter would run rich. No amount of adjusting the air/fuel ratio screw fixes it, and I can take the idle screw all the way out without my bike dying. So obviously this extra gas has got to be coming from SOMEWHERE. I'm thinking it's maybe my enrichener, but also maybe not because my scooter does quiet down after awhile of running. I don't see any cracked hoses or anywhere where extra gas could be getting in. So I'm kind of lost as to where all this extra gas is coming from..

So my brothers scooter was acting up again today, acting like it was stuck in a low gear and couldn't get to a higher gear to go faster..so we stumbled home and pulled his CVT cover (HOLY CRAP ITS HOT AFTER 1 MILE!!). The belt had a slight chink out of it but it wasn't shredded by any means. I took a video of the CVT in action while on its center stand. Anything wrong with it?
Also, I do not condone using the electric starter with the CVT cover on and then proceeding to take the cover off, you may make a horrible grinding noise like I did getting this thing running.

Yeah, I was trying to save a few dollars. I could have sworn I had a gear puller in my toolbox, but apparently I don't and it seems that a puller specifically for this engine might be cheaper. I hate buying tools so focused on one individual use, like the variator holder I bought a while ago, but damn they come in handy when you need them, like a few moments ago when I used it to hold the crankshaft in place so I could remove the flywheel nut. I've been avoiding ebay and trying to go with actual stores like partsforscooters, mainelyscooters, and scrappydogdscooters; but if I did that with my budget right now I could only afford a flywheel puller OR a stator OR another regulator but no combination thereof. I'll see what I can find on ebay... Try this, it's worked for me everytime: Get a steering wheel puller from AutoZone (rent it) or some other auto store. It should look something like this: Take and size up some EXACT bolts that fit into the holes on your flywheel, put the bolts through the side of the steering wheel puller, and then use a wrench to crank down on the bolt on the steering wheel puller (that should be positioned on the center where you took of the flywheel nut) until the flywheel comes off! This has worked for me everytime without fail and has never caused me damage. Then just go return your puller. It will be close to free (minus gas and maybe the bolts)

The clutch is basically disengaged without the engine itself moving at a certain RPM. You don't have to worry about pulling it, it won't hurt it.

I will check it. I'm sure it will be obvious if it is starting to come apart..I have a feeling that my brothers belt may be coming apart, seeing how his bike will randomly lose power and then randomly correct itself and act like it never bogged down in the first place. I shouldn't say it was bogging. It sounds more like the transmission is stuck in a very low gear! But the belt is a big deal, so I'll check it.

So now that my scooter has hit 3000 miles (200 miles ago!) I want to do some preventative maintenance. Is there anything recommended for that many miles? Spark plug? Belt? Anything really?

I think there's 2 dipsticks for this bike ,,, one in the engine and the other sits on the seat,,, after he pops the mill in that thing,,, I hope " NO YOU CAN'T BORROW MINE" is worked into the conversation with him please He already KNOWS that he can't borrow mine. My bike is MINE to take care of. Mine has over 3k on it and is running strong. I almost hope his scooter locks up soon so that it teaches him a lesson in taking care of his stuff! If he breaks this, he wants to buy my Dad's Ruckus...he'll probably break that too! And before you know it, he will be breaking my Dad's 150cc bike too because he ran out of bikes to ride!

We were on our way out for a ride tonight. And as usual my brothers bike was burning oil. So I told him before we left that he should check his oil levels. He said he didn't want to, so I checked for him. HIS OIL WAS ONLY 1/4 UP ON THE DIPSTICK HOLY SMOKES. He's gonna seize this engine before he knows it..did I mention that he hasn't changed the oil since he put it away in the spring, and his last oil change before he put it away had 300 miles on it! Dear lord! He still hasn't changed it!

Two wheeler: it reads in miles, despite that the speed reads in kilometers. I've done a GPS run and it was within a couple miles. (Did a 30 mile run via GPS, odometer read +28.3), so let's just assume that the odometer is right
