I agree with you jc,,I'm not a huge fan of the way styling is going either,,,most times in the effort to keep with the sleek angular style tank volume suffers,,,that is why I fell in love with the genuine g400c,,,styled like a traditional motorcycle ,,,too bad genuine can't get their sh1t together on release dates,,,I finally gave up on it even tho the company and dealers were taking orders and deposits,,I haven't looked in a while but I'm sure there's still no carb cents and release date

May be because of the cam has a higher lift,,,I would pull he valve cover just to double check everything,,,if you don't find anything I'd keep a very close eye on it,,hopefully a valve isn't sticking open but I doubt it

I like the look and lines of the standards we grew up on as well,,,that's why I wanted the genuine g400c badly,,,just a plain oldie standard motorcycle ,,,injected which is nice,,,

I'll chime in here again,,and agree with diver,,the whole system is a friction system and should be as dry as possible except for very lite lubing on the sliding metal bosses and collars,,,all swept areas of the clutch and variator should be dry,,,find another mechanic or do it yourself,,,we'll get you thru anything a scooter can throw at you,,,,,it's our pleasure

I suspect a bit of censoring going on over there, I'm not watching that closely. John Censoring how? I'm not watching closely either,,,I got snubbed on mv more than once ,,,that was enough for me so I bailed out,,,the only time I go there is when someone provides a link to a post or article ,,,and I also agree with the smax and other brands coming on very strongly,,,hard to beat a very high quality Scoot with excellent build quality for less money,,,the only thing I see is the Italian style,,,which is very good , but style isn't worth anything if the bike breaks catastrophically and is serious money to repair,,,don't get me wrong I'm not firmly set in the Chinese scooter camp yet,,I wouldn't take a pre 08 anything as a gift ,,,but quality is steadily getting much better

Some if not all 50's have a restrictor collar between the variation halves to restrict top end ,,, also they have an exhaust restrict or washer in the exhaust right by the head,,, pull the two nuts for the exhaust you'll see it in the pipe,,, also some have a block in the throttle housing so you can't go wide open and some have one by the carb linkage where the throttle cable hooks up to the carb
