I will do a set of mirriors for sure. The turn signals will not happen. These things are 6 volt and do not even have a battery. The charging system can barely keep up with the headlight and tailight. I knew what I was getting into when I started the project and will be happy just cruising it, and it looks cool setting in garage. I can't wait to do another one! thanks for all the compliments.

That's a beautiful scooter and great work Randy, you should be very proud. I'll leave this in General Discussion for a while so everybody gets a chance to be jealous and then move it to Pics & Vids for permanent display. Thanks for the great post, Rich Thanks I appreceiate the compliment.I really didn't post it to make anyone jealous. It was just a project I had ben wanting to do several years and I ran a across this scoot and I thought why not? Truthfully it is really old school and will not make a very good daily rider. No turn signals and no mirriors from the factory is hard to believe. So the Stella will continue to be my daily rider and use the Allstate to putt around the neighbor hood. so far of all the scooters I have had this is my favorite and I should have kept it. I really like that ,great job . How many cc's is it? 150cc and purrs like a kitten. It runs as good as my Stella. But it only has 8 inch wheels so you have to watch out for pot holes.

Thanks The paint came out real nice. It has a very nice shine for not being clear coated. I was going to lacquer it but I couldn't get the paint mixed in the correct color so I used single stage acrylic urethane.

I worked on one those a year or so ago. Try www.mopedjunkyard.com they have some parts for them.Be careful these can become a money pit in a hurry.

The wife and I went to a auction that had a 2005 Stella with 3000 miles. Well after getting all amped up the auctioneer made announcement that they would auction it off at 11;30 on account of all the inquires they had from out of town folks. I thought to myself Great I probably don't have a shot at it and it will go for more than a new one. well it had alot of bids until it got up to $500 and then it was just me and another bidder. Well long story short I got a MINT {After cleaning every nook and cranny for 7 hours} 05 mint green Stella for $1800 with about $800 accessories that runs and looks BRAND NEW! I am verrry happy with my purchase but I have to decide which scooter ot sell my "Hot Rod 150" or the Allstate.

Now, one more idea and I'm done, I promise. Start a scooter manufacturer in the states! Purchase scooter systems from Asia, assemble them here, and brand them yourself. I think that is what RC Moto was doing. I bought a Hot Rod 150{ TNG Lowboy} from them in 2005 and the vin number shows it is made in the U.S.A. It has been a verrry good scooter with about 8,000 trouble free miles

Thanks for the warm welcoming. I have been a member at Scoot Dawg for several years and recognize alot of famailar names on here also so this should be good. Bashan that scoot is very similar to my Allstate. The tailight and some of the custom trim being the major difference. As far as being a snob with a Vespa I don't see that happening. I still like my RC Moto Hot Rod 150 much better. The Vespa seems so primitive but i will see how it works out when it's done.

I recently bought a Vespa after years of wanting and searching. That said what I bought is a 1964 Allstate 125 made by Vespa. Here is where the the dilemma is. the scoot is 100% complete and after 3 hours tinkering I got it running very good. It needs a paint job which I have all the tools and ability to do myself and some misc. trim but I don't know if I should do it original or make it in to hot rod with a flame paint job ,chrome it out ,big bore kit exhaust, etc. I must be getting old because I usually would go the hot rod route but the darn thing is so original with 3500 miles it is almost a shame not keep it original. Rock or stock what ya think?
