Cyborg no two strokes in California? My Stella had A catastrophic converter on it when I bought it and I thought the reasoning behind it was so it would be 50 state legal.

I have an all electric home and have been heating with baseboard heat. Last month was frigid I havent seen 32* in over a month. our bill for January was $248 and I don't think that was bad at all. I run my heat in the garage {Fan forced electric} at 50 air compressor plus normal activites in the house. To me the only downside to the baseboard heat in no central air conditioning and wifey complains about furniture location at times. The electric company gives us a better billing rate because we heat with electric.

yeah, but you have to replace the pistin rings every 6 months if you want to maintain its original horsepower. I am sure glade that my 1964 Vespa doesn't have a "pistin" in it or I would owe it 140 sets of pistin rings. Whew that is alot of rings. It would only be 18 sets for the Stella I could probably do that this weekend if I get the parts.Darn it I thought they were running good now I gotta do rings.

[quote author=" kz1000st" source="/post/75755/thread" timestamp="1391328087" At least the Chinese build 50cc bikes that do 80 mile trips with ease. Let see a 50cc scooter on a 80 mile trip. Not the Geely I once owned. All it was good for was as pit bike at the drag strip. And even at that the golf cart was better. Looks like we disagree again so I must be wrong. But I never did like riding around with a box of headgaskets and JB Weld on the back.

The drop shippers want CHEEEEP the cheaper the better.Quite so. That's why you do your homework and not buy from Sunny sports or a host of others. I bought mine from GS Motorworks. "What? Your exhaust cracked a heat shield. The new pipe is on the way." five days later it arrived. "What you broke valve springs? Do you want a new head?" Five days later it arrived. Tony at AA Scooters knew that parts were necessary and stocked them. They said that the factory support was nile and they had to eat too many warranty claims.Your dealer has no idea of the distributor's tactics he was talking about. TNG were Znens, no problem with that factory. At the same time Znen also sold to Flyscooters. No one who sold Flyscooters had that problem. Leon stocked parts to back his sales. TNG was the importer. They didn't stock parts and stuck it to the dealers. Don't blame the Chinese for crass Americans. Lance, Wolf, Puma all sell through dealerships. All Chinese built and covered with customer satisfaction. It's a new day. They are a reputable dealer you have a scoot under warranty they fix it they don't give you a new head and say have a nice day.And that is where the problem comes in you buy a new car and spin a rod bearing the dealer going to give you a new bearing? I have owned 3 brand new Chinese scoots one was good and 2 not so good.Seat ripped with less than 100 miles, dashboard cracked and was litteraly falling on the ground, overhating issues, etc. Factory support none dealer support none but he had a lot of good excuses. There is a reason that reputable shops steer clear of the drop shipper specials.I did have good luck with my RC Moto Hot Rod 150 which was unheard of back in 2005 when EVERYBODY was having issues with China scoots. They were cheap to buy and sold well. Thank God for Scootdawg they pulled alot of guys out of the hot water back in the day and now we have scoot doc but the problems are essentially the same.

My Stella has both electric and kick. I use the the kicker more often than the electric. My vespa doesn't have an electric starter it doesn't even have a battery. Most people think tha my Stella is older than it actually is so I give them the image they are right and kick it besides it's the manly thing to do.

the Chinese will do exactly as they're told. "Build us the cheapest piece of crap you can" Yes they will And that is the problem with the majority of the Chinese scoots. The drop shippers want CHEEEEP the cheaper the better. They sell them on line no factory or dealer support. You have a bad stator send us a picture of it and we'll see if we have one. Next month you call tham about a bad rectifier"Um we don't sell scooters any longer but I can give you such a deal on a hot tub. Drop shippers and E~Bay sellers have given the Chinese scoots a bad name and that is why a long term reputible scooer shop doesn't sell or service them. A local scooter shop use to sell TNG scoots in addition to Vespa,Kymco,Stella etc to get entry level scoorist in the door. They sold them for about a year and discontinued selling them before they went bankrupt. They said that the factory support was nile and they had to eat too many warranty claims. I have witnesed a drop shippers operation once they go out the door it's buyer beware. I love the Carpi scoot it was suppose to be a Capri but legendary Chinese quality control let it slip by.

You can bet your last dollar that if BMW contracts with ANYBODY to build and or produce parts or bikes that it will be built to BMW's specifications and build quality. BMW is not going to comprimise there reputation and integrity having it built by ANY inferior supplier. BMW goes to great lengths enginering and building quality products. In fact they are the only auto producer that requires aircraft quality aluminum in there vehicles. I sure don't see an assembly line that produces 3 Geelys and then 2 BMW's Any supplier that they have would be under the close eye of BMW.

Good thing that they are still making USED 2 stroke shifters! I will always have a 2 sroke shifter nothing like the smell of a 2 stroke first thing in the morning. And doing a wheelie off a stop light aint bad either!

SIP is where I get my Vespa and Stella go faster parts but they cater to the two stroke shifter scoots. Scooter Mercato is starting to deal with the four strokes has grrreat prices but alot of times items are outa stock. You are right about this board being a wealth of information but the Vespa is different animal on here and you may want to check a board that is more Vespa oriented. Kz gave you some good links check em out.

No you won't. I bought a Japanese scooter and had to get rid of it before it ate me out of house and home. There are very few 100,000 mile Japanese scooters. Know why? Because they're heavy, underpowered and expensive to fix. Buy Chinese. 100k on a Japanese scooter I agree I have NEVER seen it. But I have had a Riva with 23xxx and a Helix with 30xxx that still ran and rode perfect didn't have the no more than normal maintenance items replaced.. You are shooting for 12xxx with your China scoot with "original parts and pieces". Good luck! I think from some of your earlier post that you will have disqualify the one with 5 blown head gaskets. Down to two and a little over half way to the 12k mark. You hold the Japanese scoots to the 100K mark and want to build a monument when a China scoot hits 12k. It is hard to tell when a China scoot hits the mythical 12k because alot of them {as I have witnessed} will show speed in mph and the odometer in kilometers and the owner can't tell the difference. Buy Chinese and comfortable walking shoes. And Don't forget this time of year to buy the U.PS. driver a nice christmas present.

I owned Kaw. 500and 750 Mach two strokes also. And yes they were high maintenance bikes. I carried spare spark plugs with me at all times. But they were the fastest out of the box darn near race bikes out of the box. My 750 would kill ANY other 750 in a 1/4 mile. So I expected the maintenance part. I am not Anti Chinese scooter at all like I've said before I have owned several China scoots and will buy probably buy several more. I like buying and selling ALL scoots. But you insist on comparing them to the "overpriced" scoots. From experience and can tell you that they can not compare in quality on any of the build point qualities, from fasteners, electronics to simple valve stems in the tires. Why are all the China scoots"Clones" of a overpriced scoot and they want you to associate the quality of a scoot they are coping ?
