Nope I don't have that one either. I checked. I don't have a vacuum line that goes to my tank. I'll take a picture to show you but I've replaced the fuel line. I know the next thing would be, well you had to have taken it off when you replaced the line. I assure you I did not do this. So do I need to buy one or fit a shut off? I'm just wondering if this will hurt anything or not. I'm pretty sure they forgot to put one on because I had a vac line that was plugged with a bolt. So one guy did the fuel lines then it got to the guy who does the vac lines and there was no petcock to hook it to so he just plugged it. This just shows how crappy their quality inspection process must be. Also, I bought this from a dealer who put it together. I did a PDI and noticed the missing petcock right away. They did a really bad job of assembling it. I've had to go through and redo every step. I should have told them to leave it in the crate.

I thought the same thing until I figured out I could just stand on the floorboard and drive it like a segway.

I have a Harbor Freight right down the street. I got my multi meter for free with a coupon. I love Harbor Freight.

Thank you, I like it too. By the way I'm glad I busted out the locktite. I took the brake caliper screws out with my fingers.

Yes, please link to the kit and explain in detail with pictures. I would like to do the same thing to my scooter and this would help me out tremendously.

So I just bought a new Lancer, straight from the warehouse by my house . While replacing all the vacum and fuel lines I realized this scoot does not have a petcock. The fuel line runs straight from the gas tank nipple to my new visu fuel filter to the carb. I removed the PAIR or PAAR system and the EGR? (vent hose coming off the gas tank going to a valve and canister) I had both for some reason. I put a fuel filter on the vent line. So is there a reason I don't have a petcock? Is this normal? And most importantly, will it hurt anything? I haven't had any problems out of it, it runs great. I'm just wondering if it was supposed to be this way or if they forgot to put one in the line. I had another line that was plugged up with a bolt. I can take some pictures if anybody is interested. Thanks for the help, only 700km in and I just want to make sure I get as much life out of this one as I did the last one.

I just did a "standard" break in. I drove it around the neighborhood making sure to vary the amount of throttle. It has 430km as of today. I haven't driven WOT yet, I'm waiting until I change the oil one more time. I've had good luck with Chinese Scooters. My last one was a 50cc gy6. It had over 12,000 miles on it before it dissappear from an accident scene (I was taken by ambulance to the hospital). I got clipped and went into a nice soft ditch. Police left my scoot at the scene with keys in the ignition. I was beyond pissed. I'll find it one day. It's reported and I have all the papers still. Just a matter of time(it's been six months). Anyway if you look in my post history there are some pictures of it. The worst breakup I've ever been through.
If you figure out how to do the lights let me know. That's something I'd like to do too. I've got mine apart right now. Locktite time.

I can't stress how important a PDI is. I get paranoid everytime I hear a rattle. I think I'll do a second one this weekend.

It was the battery. I brought it in and put it on the tender all night. In the morning it fired right up. Still not sure what made it die out so quick. Oh well, I live like a mile from the motorcyclesuperstore so if it dies out all together I'll just walk down there and buy a new one.

Hi, its been a long time. New season, new problems. So, I finally saved up and bought a new 150cc TaoTao. A Lancer to be exact. I bought it from a local warehouse type dealer (there's a showroom but they get their stock from a big warehouse somewhere). I have a six month warranty and paid an extra $20 to cover any labor for that period (although I've always done all repairs myself, I figured it was a safe bet. I mean you never know). They had to order my scooter because they didn't have any in stock. I let them go ahead and put it together, even thought as soon as I got home I tore it all apart and did it again myself. I also did a pretty good PDI. Replaced VAC and Fuel lines, fuel filter, new NGK plug, tore out the emissions stuff (I had both PAIR and vapor recovery on mine. Anybody every heard of them including both? Weird. I still need to take out the Carb and pull the cap off the fuel mixture screw. I've already had problems with idle, even before I tore out emissions. For now I've just adjusted the idle screw, but I know I need to adjust the idle the right way.(school has taken up most of my time, and April showers haven't helped) It been a week and has about 50km on it now. So today I went to start it and the battery was low. It was so low I could get it started so I used the kick start, I drove to the store went in shopped and came out, scooter started. Got the scooter home, turned it off, tried to restart and battery was dead again. So to my question, is this a bad battery? Where should I begin? I was gonna bring it in and put it on the tender but it started pouring rain again. I'm gonna go get it and charge it when the rain quits. I know the batteries are crap, in fact it's one of the only thing the warranty doesn't cover. I just want to make damn sure before I buy a new one. Thanks for reading my book. I'm excited for a new season!!

I have a Lancer 150, just bought it in fact. Although the Lancer has two headlights they only light up one at a time. The running headlight has a half cover on it. The bright headlight doesnt. The lights arent meant to both light up at the same time. As for the dash board light, mine does the same thing. When I pull on the brake it lights up red.

I was thinking and maybe I'm wrong but if the carb was loose when you bought it then the previous owner may have been having the same problem. Maybe they took out the carb to try and fix it but couldn't so they threw it back together and sold it. A new carb is 25$ on amazon. Maybe just buy a new one. Then you can connect all the hoses into their proper places. Cutting lines hasn't worked for me yet, lol, believe me I've tried. Except for that stupid PAIR system, I cut that out and kept the hose for spair.

OK so I have a 50cc qmb139 Chinese scooter with about 11,000 miles on it now. It runs good. Starts right up. The problem is it doesn't run as good as it used to. I'm topping out at about 30-35 mph these days and hill climbing isn't so good either. It seems to run a little better in cooler weather. Im gonna check the valves today. Other than that i have been doing oil and gear changes reguraly. I don't want to put any bbk's or anything. Would I see any improvement with new rollers or springs? The carb is pretty new with only about 1,000 miles on it. Other than stock OEM parts this scooter hasn't had anything done to it. Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions. This scooter is way past its prime and has lasted way longer than I expected but its starting to slow down on me and I want to do whatever I can to make it last even longer.
