We'll have over 40" from this storm by tonight. Oh well, it's only the beginning. I hope the supply of barley soup holds out. M/C My late Mother in Law lived in the lake effect pattern (from Lake Ontario). One day somebody told her not to let the snow bother her. "Afterall everybody knows lake effect snow isn't real". She laughed about that for a good long time. ROFLMAO Well all I can say is the piles of imagination are get rather high. The plow guy has been here 3 times today moving this unreal stuff outta the way! One minute it's sunny(well partly) then in less than a blink, I can't see houses 1/2 a block away. Must be my eyes are getting cloudy from wishing for summer. Luke, wish you were here!LOL M/C

Yep, I'm in Western New York (Eastern Wayne County)... I'm ready for spring already!!! Are we going to be buried until January & then have 80 deg. weather the month of January like we did 16 years ago or so (the warmest January in history) Or are going to be blasted & buried all winter into March??? I won't say cold cause I know quite a few states get colder then New York State does... David Sr.

It is 19 here this morning and has not been out of the 30s for highs for this week. Warms a little for the next few days into the 40s but the next cold wave hits on Monday and by Tuesday morning the low will be 9!!!! Not sure if this is setting a new record for this area but after living in GA for 55 years I dont remember any thing like this in December. Usually our coldest month is Feb.. I hate winter!!!!

Well it's Thursday morning, coffee is made, and I've been peeking out the window at all the poor saps bundled up going to work as I lounge around sipping this hot brew. 42"+/- but not a flake of snow falling no matter what that weather dork says. (He really needs to step away from the radar and LOOK out the window.) Wildman, I remember that winter, freaky is the only way to describe it. I kept expecting to wake up to a blizzard for having such nice weather. Professor, at last, we beat JR in something that even HE can't argue about. Take that JR you old rebel. We're the "SNOW CAPITAL"! Oh, wait, am I really bragging about that?!? The news last night said there were 150 traffic accidents yesterday alone, and that's just in the city. Happens ever year, natives forget how to drive, new kids coming here for college, scary! Best week off from work I've taken in a long time. M/C OMG, there's something strange going on outside! The sky is burning! Brightness! Something huge that I can't even look at! WHAT IS THAT!!!

Oh yeah, the sun is shining, but tell me what's the temperature? I've got 14 above here south of you at 8:55. They say with the wind chill it feels like -1.

It's about 69 here cause I don't like it to warm in the winter. Always makes it feel colder when you go outside. The coffee is about 120. Oh, you meant outside? Well from little I can see, too darn bright with the reflection, I'd say COLD! @ 9:28 the weather channel says it's 21 which is really great. Gotta love the weather men. The local idiot was standing there with a straight face says, "current temp 21, high today of 18". Wonder if they know how stupid that makes them sound! M/C

Twenty-One degrees! Why it's almost summer there. It's 16 now and the wind chill is down to 3 above. I've taken the dog out three times so she can romp and frolic while I shiver. Darn Black Labs are made for this kind of weather. She looks at me like I'm stupid when I say, "OK, it's time to go in."

Luke, I know the route in the first vid very well. It was making me crazy cause everything was so familuar but I couldn't place it.
@ 2:55 you'll see a railroad bridge that's very low, yet every year someone tries to get under it and FAILS even though there are signs the whole length warning NO TRUCKS! The last one was a tour bus that was fatal.
@ 5:08 your driving right past the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, BEST BBQ IN THE US of A!!!
I just want to say the video was shown at normal speed. We really do drive like that around here so watch out.

Alright I'm convinced and i will buy some longjohns and put my scooter winter jacket into my travel bag. Here in Johannesburg South Africa it snows once in every 16 years or so and if it snows on my trip i'll probably go out and play in the stuff. What is a "snuggies"?
In winter in SA we like to drink Old Brown Sherrie, a variation of sherrie. Any suggestions as to the best sherrie in the US?

Any suggestions as to the best sherrie in the US? Sherry Duncan! She could meet the 7th Fleet and teach them all why our navy says "It's not just a job, It's an adventure!" ;D Wish you many smiles while your on this side of the world Scootaway! M/C Oh, a "snuggies" is a cheap blanket/robe type of thingy. If you watch any TV here you'll get sick of their commercials.

no way!! do you ride that fast in snowy road?? ...i saw on one of the winter funny videos,,3-4 cars were driving downhill at about 25mph on a snowy road,,when light turn red, they all applied the brakes and all slammed at each other...they hit the cars already parked on the side and they all slid down the intersection... gosh .i'm sure car insurance companies go bankrupt during winter..
but there's one thing i can promise all of you..i will never ever live in snowy places...nevah!!! cuz,the snuggies doesn't look good on me..lol ;D
