They know what they're doing, the cops know what they're doing, everybody is aware of what's going on. The riders who stagger out to their bike know they shouldn't get on it. I don't want to hear that crap that "he was too loaded". It's called personal responsibility, suck it up, do it up, and do it right. End of story, Rich

Mike eh? Want it all do we? Highs and lows eh? Ya want yer hydro top and bottom eh? It's a kerfuffle eh? Do you people really talk like that? Eh? Anyway, the high beam indicator usually is energized by the same feed that lights up the high beam. So more than likely the energy is being supplied to the circuit. The bulb is defective or the socket is defective, eh?

You're arguing with yourself son, you're trying to convince yourself you didn't mess anything up. Well there's a good chance you did. Take it from a guy that's been down the "I farged up" path more than once, get new parts and start over. It hurts the wallet but it's so much easier on the psyche. Rich

Did you turn the idle down? Did you check the charging voltage on the battery while the bike is running?

Bring the Matrix back to life! That's another epic thread...bring it on! How's Texas Josh, you like it out there? Very cute kid, so who did you harvest the genes from? Check in with us brohau, the gangs all together again and all the seas are calm. JR, Alley, and me are admins. Cyborg and Kaveman are on the staff. PJ had some health problems and took a leave but I left his board up. CC Prof took a retirement bonus and he checks in once in a while. Big Guy is still a member but we don't see much of him. So the place is the same but not the same....such is life. If y'all never read Josh's thread you should, it's a great story. Scooter Doc opened March 30th, 2010, and Josh started his thread two weeks later. We were all so young, I had a zit problem, well I still do, it has nothing to do with age, it's because of these damn herbs for.....I digress. Here's The Matrix Rebuilding!

Don't get ahead of yourself, check the spark. Do you know how to do that? It should be bright blue to white, not orange or yellow. Do that and get back to us unless you need some instruction on how to run the test....then ask. Rich

I wish I could uncork Jay's Journey....yes, I still have it hidden in the dark recesses of Doc. For those that don't know of this epic journey, a guy named Jay tried to take a Chinese scooter from Maine to the Florida keys. He spent most of his time broke down and waiting for parts. Let's not rehash all of the reasons people think the bike failed, the fact is it blew up several times. Do yourself a favor and do NOT try to take a Tao Tao or any budget scooter across the desert or 10K miles anywhere. I don't care how used to the heat you are or how big of a jug of water you carry, that would be lunacy. Plus you state you have limited mechanical skills which further exposes you to being stranded. Cookees is right, if you can't pony up the bucks for a SYM, forget it, you'll end up stranded in some of the harshest envinronment on the planet.

That's what I did. I waited for symptoms to show up. Hard starting, rough idling, noisy valves. In lieu of that I left it alone. It is a simple procedure so check it for your own peace of mind. But it's been my experience if they are not clattering they're OK on the CF 250. Rich

I have your engine. Do exactly what the video says. There is nothing to align. You are simply setting a gap. It just shows the "engineers" can make it simple if they try. They just stick to the tired old designs. Are your valves noisy now or is it running poor? Don't stir a turd bud if you don't have to. Rich

OK, what is your engine number? Bottom of the case, left front. Should be QMJ157 or something along those lines. Get me that and I will walk you through all of it. The reason I ask for the engine number is that the GY6 flywheel is not bolted to the crank. There is one bolt that holds the flywheel to the crank and a woodfuff key holds the timing orientation.
