Cool ! It took me a while to get used to my Stella 2T's 4 speed tranny as well . Having gone from the Chinese "twist and go" scoots to the Vespa type shifters it was real kick in the pants at first. I can't remember how many wheelies I did when letting the clutch out too fast while revving the engine too high ! Yes , you can pop wheelies on an older Vespa type tranny and clutch setup ! With the 4T's , when you do upgrade the pipe make sure you check and adjust the main and idle jets in the carb. You have to do that on the older 2T's and 2 cycle Vespa carbs ! willc.

Truthfully I prefer when I can to ride the scoot when the weather isn't a total mess. This scoot was meant to be operational and ridden regardless of the time of the year! The 04 2T frame just turned over 8000 miles on the speedometer on Monday afternoon. 3000-4000 of it on the current homebuilt TX-200cc engine. willc.

Cool !! Glad you found something close for parts. Personally Im still liking the PX-TX-200 2 stroke better. The smoke it puts out when starting the motor gives it more attitude than a 4 stroke would ! willc

I started the Scoot for 1st time in 2 months. 2 kicks is all it took to get it started with choke. It hasn't ran since November due to lousy weather . Poor thing has been out in the elements all winter. Hopefully I'll be able to start riding again soon unless the weather goes to h-ll again !! Cheers ! willc.

I understand what you had to do. Yes parts with shipping can get expensive but the parts last longer than on a Chinese made scoot! My Stella 2T is pretty much a licensed copy of the original Vespa PX150-PX200 series. The parts interchangeability was one of the key reasons why I built my scoots current 200cc motor ( Vespa manufactured TX-200 crankcase ) . I was able to keep my Stella's px electronic ignition system with the Vespa crankcase. fun fun fun ! willc.

The Stella's have the same blood as the Vespa's. They can take much more than the plastic Chinese scoots can. Having an all metal body helps !! willc.

I apologize for not keeping up as I had ! Regular cables are what I use. ScooterMercato is where I normally order my cables from if I am not in a panic. They are tad bit cheaper than "works" but are usually the same quality as "works". Please remember these steel cables will stretch. Especially the clutch cable . You may need to adjust via the cable adjuster. I try to keep spare inner cables for the clutch , throttle and shifter. Trust me !! Getting towed home when not having a spare is a bit embarrassing ! If your putting a new complete cable expect fun and mayhem and a few choice words. I have had to do both the shifter and clutch and it wasn't exactly a piece of cake to do. That was with the gas tank still in the scoots frame ! willc.

I am more than aware of dealing with the carb. Last year I replaced the entire float mechanism after rebuilding the si 24/24. I also do use the fuel cutoff valve ( when I remember to do so). willc.
