The stator is only replaced usually after some extensive troubleshooting to eliminate other areas that can cause problems. My YY250T (2008) has a blocking diode in the charge circuit which is used to control the headlights and the charging of the battery. Check your scoot to see if your electrics look the same as in my picture: The small heat sink thing in the upper left hand part of the picture is the blocking diode. If this diode is electrically open or if the associated wiring is open, then the battery will not charge. Assuming your scoot is laid out the same, then a quick check of the diode is to disconnect it from the scoot wiring (white plug just to the right of the diode) and jumper the plug coming from the scoot. If the headlights come on, then you have the jumper set right. Start the scoot and see if you get a voltage of over 13 volts at idle and around 14 volts at 5000 rpm. You will need a basic digital voltmeter to check this and do general troubleshooting of any electrical problems. If the voltages check out, then the diode is open and has to be replaced. The stator is buried behind the large silver cover in the lower right part of this picture.

Welcome to the forum! Nice looking retro style scoot. Looks like it has a tuxedo on. Quite formal and sharp looking.

Hi, Sarah. Welcome. Hope you have many years of happy scootin'. The Roketa 150 is an excellent scoot and you will get good service out of it if it's well maintained. I would be surprised if you don't have a pet name for it. Mine is known as the "Bumble Bee".

@kz.. this is what I did.... I have a tester with the light bulb inside it.. I clipped it to the + on the battery, then took off the left handle bar controls (Not sure the right word).. Then with it clipped and running.. I touched the tip of the tester to every soldered piece in there and NOTHING lit up.. only things so far I was able to light up was the part in the picture.. And also lit up was the place where the 20amp is that is connected to the battery in front of the battery.. two of them lit up, two didn't... @alley.. I replaced all the fuses to the fuse box.. Only thing that shys me away from the fuse box is that the one 10amp is for the horn, blinkers, and tail lights.. But my tail lights work.. The Dash, horn, low beam headlight, and blinkers all don't work.... (well unless you shut the key off then the headlight works.. and the horn makes the speedodometer jump and the blinkers do crazy stuff... richard.. Is that a CF Moto Fashion?? Not sure if I have that cluster of wires.. The only fuse box I found on my fashion is in the glove compartment... I will have to look for the black wire on the fuse box.. Before you start replacing anything, connect the tester to the negative not positive terminal on the battery. Repeat your readings. They should show normal results - tester will light on black wire with the key on and will go off with key off. The original tester hook up you used will light up only when you touch the probe to a grounded circuit or the negative on the battery.

Breaker bar
Man! I thought I had FEW brain cells left. I do remember now that you mention it. I can switch you back to Morbius Special but of course you'll have all the forum powers Luke ☎ has which are zero. But you'll have to hang out with those two reprobates Scootmonk and Luke ☎. . A change of position is not necessary, Rich. I was only looking for your acknowledgment of who the original and founding member of the Morbius specialists was.

Rod Serling. I didn't know if proper names were allowed so if this isn't in the rules just ignore my two words.
Hey Scootmonk old pal, I didn't know you owned a Morphous. That puts you in a rare member group that's reserved for Morhous owners only......the Morbius Specialists! See, back a couple of years I accidentally called a Morphous a Morbius....you know.. Forbidden Planet? Then Luke jumped all over me and then we...and I...er...uh. It's too complex, maybe Luke will explain it. If you don't want your new member group let me know and I'll put it back like it was. But remember, you'll be giving up all of the powers that come with that title which are zero. Would you believe that the original Morbius Specialist never owned a Morphous, and I still don't? How soon we forget.

Using a mechanical switch for starting would be impractical. The switch would be a lot bigger than just a starter button in order to handle the high amperage of the starter motor. You would also have to run heavy wires to the location of the mechanical starter switch.
Using a non OEM solenoid should work as long it can handle the current (amps) of the scooter starter.

Welcome to the forum. How is the scoot running besides using a lot of gas? These little scoots are especially sensitive in two areas - valve adjustment and tire pressure. The valve adjustment can change quite a bit during the initial break in period. Incorrect valve gaps can cause drive-ability problems and in some cases stall the engine.
Running around with low pressure in one or two tires can really sap the power and hurt the performance and gas mileage. 49 cc's need all the help they can get.

Welcome to the forum, shordie. Like Alleyoop says, change the oil. This is just shipping oil and not really intended for long term use. What kind of scoot did you get? How about some pix? If it's a water cooled model, then you should also change out the antifreeze. Changing the gear oil is also recommended. A post delivery inspection (PDI) is recommended for any new scoot. Here's an excellent link on doing a PDI: www.chinesescooterreference.com/pdi.htm
