the feds make the manufacturers set the motors on the lean side at the factory so a pod filter will just add more air. I wouldn't be surprised if you had to add more fuel.

removing the master cylinder isn't hard but you do need to pay attention to what your doing or brake fluid will go everywhere. the brake line is attached to the master the same way it's attached to the caliper, with a banjo fitting. all your other questions are answered in the vid alley posted.

I think standard size would be 14mm x 1.5 thread pitch but I could be wrong.

their should be a vacuum line connected to the carb or the intake. without vacuum, the fuel diaphragm doesn't operate and the carb doesn't get fuel.

are you testing for spark on the motor or the frame? testing for spark on the frame isn't good enough as there may a ground issue between the frame and motor so you get spark while at the frame but not in the motor. now for the basics, is the kill switch on?

Jump the two big terminals on the starter relay. If the starter spins, the relay, wiring or switch is bad. If the starter dosen't spin, the starter needs attention.

Important tire safety tip. I always use a hand pump instead of compressed air for any tire. ( Yes, even car tires). The reason for this is my friend was working on a truck tire when it exploded and sent parts of him across the shop. Please be careful when inflating tires.

some consider high mileage to be getting past the first riding season. as mentioned keeping fresh oil and a constant eye on maintenance goes a long way to longevity.
