Newbie, Where are yinz moving to in Pa.? LOL Yinz Tells me you are pure Pa. Rofl. We looked at so many, here is what I know north of Pittsburgh, hour or two. Far enough from Family to be Comfy, close enough to visit and be gone. I actually did not care it could have been Ohio or WV. She found it I negotiated it.

;D While responding to the walley world battery post I realized a $100.00 savings! Replaced battery ( kept old one),last fall in Truck that is our main transportation and goes God knows where! Old battery never failed but last thing any of us need's is a no start on a 2 to 4 hr trip. I was prepped to buy a battery for my truck with a lift gate, ( Moving soon), battery post here woke me up. Checked old battery, its still charged! LOL more money for bikes, and no hour trip wasted that I could be doing something else!

I have used them in Jet Ski, Boat Toyota Ford Vans everything and have had no problems. I expect three years from a battery and walley world has not let me down.

Installed vasriator from Scrappy dog, same size rollers 6g. Did not change Contra needed 14 mm 1/2 socket., got that tonight. Factory spring so weak I can move pulley back and forth with my fingers, with no problem, factory is blue or green. Results so far. Acceleration a little better, Runs at 7 grand instead of around 55 to 6. Pulls hills better, it now runs 20 to 24 on the bad one that was about 15 before. Tach shows downshifts at 6500 instread of 5400 keeps it moving better. I will do the Contra spring tomorrow. Looked at variator ramp differances stock vs aftermatket this is what I see, belt cone higher, old belt fit tight not loose. Roller face, factory almost flat to middle of grove then tapers upward. Aftermarket roller face uniform upward with no flat areas. Will update tomorrow after changing spring. Also wondering if 5 g rollers would make a delta, or 5 then 6 5 then 6 just to see what happens. Since sliders cost more would it be a benefit to use rollers to get the right combo and then order the correct size sliders? Wow even after the tuning we would get slider acelleration gains rofl. Comments appreciated.
P.S. 150 should be here Monday or tue as per dealer. Ya right holiday weekend maby a week from now rofl.

Seems I owe an apology to you Newbie. There was no need to change the original post or reword anything. No one was offended. I assumed With the screen name that you were New. I would hate to see a novice treat anything with wheels as a toy but, It happens all to often IMO. Now that you can afford a few play things, Live it up and have a blast Brother!!!!! Just be careful like always. Leave the stunt riding and mile long wheelies to the young ones Btw, I only asked about talking with Moe cause I have sent a few E-mails and never got responses until I drove down to scrappys and got parts in person. I thought Moe was a generic person. Have you thought about a BBK to Play with? 72cc and an up gear will dominate the hills better than just trans tuning can. 44 mph all the way up you speed demon Just hope for a tail wind to hit 45 Maybe even 50 on the flat. If I could just find a stroker cam for a QMB the world would be great!!!! LOL not a problem the 89 newbie is a handle that started because Mrs newbie wanted an 89 Dodge Dakota and it was so bad I joined Dak sites. To be truthful this is the first time in years I have played with a motor and after doing cars and trucks the parts are so cheap. Mo, yep he has responded to me 5 times. Im actually doing this to learn, new 150 should arrive early next week, this one will go to Mrs Newbies son.

Did you actually talk/correspond with Moe? The tech talk @ scrappys has decent info but, a little more research could provide a bit better info when deciding what upgrades to play with. IMO these little 50cc are NOT just toys. People DIE riding them. In fact many of us depend on them to make a living. Oh BTW, These little engines can be sensitive to weather changes like you mentioned. That's part of the scooter tuning fun A bigger jet and harder spring will only add to the play time of starting These scoots like cooler weather by nature and runn better when it cool (not to cold). The humidity can make them rough running Unless tuned. . Rollers wont help that Thanks for the reply, yes several exchanges with mo by e-mail. The rollers and spring are to help on the mountains I have here. Its not real safe to be in a 45 MPH zone on a big hill and be going 15 to 20. I find a safe spot and let others pass. As far as it becoming a toy, (I just changed the post to test bed to not offend others). People getting killed on them, I have ridden nonstop from 16 to now approaching 65. and I am well aware of the needs of the road. I am also well aware of the dangers can be present. What every biker, needs to understand is when you think you have it mastered and are a really good rider the trouble starts. As far as depending on it, it is my first mode of daily transportation, second is 4X4 truck. Hmm 80 / 90 MPG Vs. 14 to 18, no brainer there. Agreed on weather conditions. Wildfire runs at all temps I have run it from the mid 30's to the 80 to 90's, but it runs as you say best in cool, not cold weather. Now on the other hand Mrs. Newbies Ice Bear 50 Trike hates anything below 40 F.

OK drove Scoot early Sunday , so early no bikes out. After the storms and chores went back out about 5:15 P.M., rode till 7 to 7:30 P.M. To town, backroads, main 50 MPH hiway. Lost count of bikers but low hand waved to all. Waves back were 1 old dude on a harley on back road, and Female passenger on Full dress Harley. Put windshield on bike Sun Nite lets see if that makes a diff. This is too funny, When on my Harley I waved to all Bikes including Crotch Rockets.

Thats a shortcase you have . A longcase would need at least a 835-20-30 or a 842-20-30 belt. My 05 roketa has the longcase with 835 belt. I know this because of the work I did in mid march ( new crankshaft, a9 cam) on mine. Bill C. Thanks on that !!(Ok it be a shortcase, cool, short long, in between, whatever makes it get down the road and not quit is ok with me.. ;D

OK back and forth between 150 and 250, worrying about house qualifications all the good stuff in life. Got the call today the bank accepted offer and approved us go to settlement in 38 days. Moving to Pa. Based on that I have backed off the 250 water cooled and sending the rest of the monies to Green Earth for the JCL150. Things I don't understand from the specs is it is 60 mph capable, while another bike with 13 inch wheels is 65 capable, and specs say rear drum but all the pic’s show disc. Have already bought new fuel filter and lines new battery and want to change all the bulbs I can to LED when assembling. I’m sure the stock headlights are inadequate so I need to do something with that also, but I’m a duf and can't find better headlight bulbs, but I’m sure I am not looking in the correct place. I wanted to add an oil cooler but from previous posts that’s a tap & die proposition and I really don’t want to pull a brand new engine. I did not order a trunk because the Chinese ones are small. I have a large Harley trunk from years gone by that will be great. If it last‘s some years Ill get training wheels. (Talked to a really old guy 78, at the gas station that put the training wheels on his Gold Wing because he is too weak to hold it up at stop lights). If any one has any ideas on lights or oil cooler or anything else let me know.

Unlimited CDIs may give you a very small advantage if you tune the CVT, but you also run the risk of over-reving the engine and it explodes... 4 sure dont want to burn one up.

Since I decided to keep it instead of sell it it's the test bed for this week. ( Orriginal post said toy but apparently that was a poor word choice for some here, not meaning to offend anyone Im changing wording). The rollers and spring were reccomended by Mo@ Scrappy dog because I have some pretty big hills to climb. I am not opposed to playing with it more but if I do Im spending monies that are better spent on the new bike on order. The jets are an after thought probably dont need them. Actually the thing runs like two bikes. Start it on a cool morning everything works great even later in the day. Took it back out in the afternood for over two hours it ran GREAT!! Rain all night started it to go to little store started hard ran crappy. Tomorrow it will be another bike rofl. Time to get the new one and stop playing.

What are the jets for? Have you changed the exhaust or the air filter? Just to play with it. But we both know in spite of what is said here that exhaust and intake are built in restrictors for the 50's.

They usually run out of power before they run out of gearing. After a big bore kit and CVT upgrades then a gearing change may be in order. Since Im now playing with it I have stuff coming from ScrappyDog, lighter slirer/roller, 1500 spring. Da Stupid me forgot to order Jets.
