Hmm.. are you sure your electric auto choke is working? It may be on all the time. Your mpg should be something like 60-75mpg.

Great find. Thank you Cruiser. Are you sure one can use CN250 labeled variators in these CF250 scooters?I read somewhere that CF250 variator fan plate diameter is 5,5" and CN250 is 5". I believe it was in page kidNMeparts.com Oh yes it was kidNme www.shop.kidnmekarts.com/Variator-Vented-CN250-Variator-MotoRio-Slotted-CN250.htm"Will fit most Chinese CN250 Imports such as: Hammerhead (pre 2006. (For the HH w/ Hi/lo, get our CF250 version (5-1/2" Fan)) Kinroad/Runmaster BMS Powerbuggy BMS Road King 250 Scooter JCL Titan Roketa and most vehicles running a CN250cc motor with a 5" variator fan!!"So are CN250 variators really compatible with CF250 scooters?Malossi is interesting but pretty expensive Have to think again is there any idea to change better variator. Need to google if there is any experiences and reviews using Malossi or Dr. Pulley in these cfmoto scooters. That JCosta is MAD! I used to have JCosta in my last 250cc scooter. It is the only really performance variator. But increases fuel consumption dramatically. So no thanks for JCosta It is hard to make desicions After 3 months it's time to put scooter to sleep until next may. And then I don't know if I want to drive anymore this scooter or change it to something else. In every last three summer I have changed my vehicle But at the moment I like this scooter a lot Cheap traveling

Okay. I'm totally full of cheap belts. In last month I have tried 3 different cheap belts. In all belts there was same size 918 - 22,5 - 30. Belt brand was QINJIANG. (If you see one. Burn it!)
- First belt was 15mm too long and slipping at the very beginning. Sent it back and got new one by warranty.
- Second belt was same size than my 8000km driven Gates Powerlink. Unbelievable but this one lasted nearly 100 miles and then started slipping.
- Then I got that new warranty belt. Tried it and 20 miles later it was slipping.
- I started to questionize my self that if the problem is in the clutch. I had brand new clutch in box and decided to try it with new belt. Contra spring in new clutch was noticeable stiffer. I tought it might hold belt harder. But noooooo. In my dreams. Same slipping.
Pfff... Put back on my good old worn Gates Powerlink and no slipping.
And grease cannot be the reason for slipping. I always clean clutch plates and variator plates and v-belt with break cleaner spray. Everytime when I have to touch them.
Finally I took a video how these two different belts act when idle speed.
First cheap brand belt QINJIANG which driven only 50-100km.
Come on! Look how much it vibrates. And frequently it vibrates more and keep that rattling noise. No wonder it is slipping when driving if it vibrates that much when idle speed.
Then my good old 8000km driven Gates Powerlink. Same size.
Not much vibration and no rattling sound. Smooth action. No slipping when driving.
I hope no one want to buy cheap belt ever again.
btw. That cheap belt stretched 7mm after 50-100km.

OH MY GOD! Just cruised 115km on country road. Speed all the time between 60-100km/h and also about 10-15km in city. And trust me. I'm accelerating now full open throttle in every intersection with this more power. Consumption 3.09l/100km which is 76.12 mpg Double win \o/ \o/ I got way more acceleration and decreased the fuel consumption. Never have that low consumption before!

Maybe I explained it little hard. I try again. there was already this little copper washer. I don't know is it original or did last owner of the scooter put it in there. I believe it is original because last owner was no tuning guy at all. He was just-buy-and-drive-and-do-nothing-else-to-scooter guy. And when I first changed this c-clip from middle to lowest I somehow put that needle back to diaphragm in that way that copper washer was not aligned around needle. I noticed that when I pened that white plastic thing second time I don't know how I managed to do that wrong -> so without that washer and c-clip in lowest position it was almost the same than driving with washer and c-clip in the middle. Needle more like in the same height. But immediately when I fixed that washer in right place I noticed the better acceleration.

Now i have driven one day and yes. I can feel the difference in every acceleration. I will tell how the fuel consumption changed after next stop in gas station.

I was just trying for fun and I moved that needle washer from middle to bottom and got remarkable upgrade for accelerating. When looking speedometer the acceleration from 0 to 80km/h was 2.5-3 sec faster ;D Don't loose this washer. It is small and you can easily loose it. Use good lock pliers when changing it's position. Don't forget to put that another washer also around needle. I first messed that up and tried to figure out why it didn't get any better acceleration Pictures are from my blog. Sadly it is written in Finnish language. I can put here a link for it but the translation is funny when used google translation translate.google.com/translate?hl=fi&sl=fi&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fjonway250.blogspot.com%2F

I believe that was the same link which was in the big ruckus forum. They were not sure if it is a real powerlink. I don't believe it is because of the price. Who would sell it for that price. No one. It must be those fake powerlinks. But thanks guys for links. Keep on coming more if you meet 918 belts.
