Wildman, I am having simular problems with mine. Have checked with Rapid Jim, a new transmission will run you $146.00 freight inc. if I understand correctly. Factory warrenty is for 90 days only. not sure if this applies to the whole trike or not. I am questioning if I want to devote any more time or money to my 150-8. The 2010 transmission will not work on the 09 150 models, so Jim tells me. Mine has had so many other problems, some minor, some not, but the tranny has been the worst. Considering IB's warrenty, their solution for correcting an problem that they knew existed by going to a single speed -no reverse solution for the 2010 models certainly in my mind places IceBear in the lower tier of Chinese scooters. I would go with a new tranny but am afraid that the same problems would exist. To my knowledge IB did not correct the 09 trannies. If IB had spent a hundred dollars more on the 09 scoots they would have had a winner. IMHO they did not and it is not. In the meantime I am studying other approaches. Check with Rapid Jim tho. He is prompt on repies and gives honest answers.

Great way to get to the scoot, kid. Compared to me you are all a bunch of young punks!!!!! Compared to my work area , your shop looks sanitary enough to do major surgery in. Bryan at MountainMoped has a motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight that helps a lot and also has a rafter mounted electric winch to do what you are doing-- does make the job easier. Jon & Bashan you guys are young!! Wait til you are middle aged like me(74) or Dr. J (?). Age is relative. If you want to be old at 40 you will be, if you want to be young at our age you can be.

Prof, nice job. they look great Like that seat too. Both my TGB Deliverys have back rests built into the huge top trunk, as does my trike. Makes for a great and comfortable ride. Of course old guys like Bashan need all the back help unlike us young guys. Us younguns like the back rests cause they are comfortable , not because we NEED them!!! 8^)

Hi, Kid: Sorry to hear about your wreck but you could have been hurt even worse. Always wear helmet, padded jacket in the summer, leather in the winter, heavy pants ( I prefer the Carhardt work pants myself) face shield on the helmet, highway safety vest, (that way they cant say they did not see you) work boots or hightop shoes with steel toes, and gloves. do this even if you are going just down the road and back. Look out for gravel or sand on the road. I have dropped a bike twice doing 1 mph in my driveway cutting too close and breaking in gravel. Even at that speed it hurts!!! (hurt my pride and my butt!!!) We are all pulling for you to mend quickly and get back on the scoot. I had a horse man tell me once that when you are thrown the first time, get up and get back in the saddle. Otherwise you might not ride a gain. Good advise for us scooter riders too. So, heal and ride on!!!!

Got me beat!!! I am only 74. But am going to start going to WallowWorld on my TGB Delivery 150cc cause it is cheaper than taking my CRV, That 49 gallon box will hold a bunch of groceries.

Hey, AlleyOop:nJust retread your post. You print the numbers out on white paper and then posiytion them on the outside of the glass cover for the speedometer. Question: What kind of paper and how do you get it to stay on? Enquiring quirky minds want to know!!!

I have had goats at one time, fun critters but they will eat every thing in your yard, shrubs, tree leaves, rose bushes, you name it and they will eat it plus they are very smart. Kiwi, this is a tough, argumentive, hard nosed group here, really hard to get along with!!!!!! 8^) I, for one, want to see your scooter mower, might convert my trike to one!!! 8^(

I have thought about getting a couple of burros myself but have too many critters here now. And all we have to do is use Kiwi's concept but with an industrial trike/bike. If your knees would hold up you would not fall off the side of the mountain. Wolfhound

Hi, Kiwi, I think you might consider converting a Tomos bike, not scooter, to do this. Would be a distinct advantage for those old timers! Then all they would have to do is be sure they did not fall over on the hillsides. Of course a flock of sheep might be better plus we could harvest the wool.

Hey, AlleyOop, I am a rider, not a wrencher, but I can admire the work of those with the Gift of The Wrench. I am a Ruckus fan, neat clean, simple machines, easy to get to the engine, and when painted black, real bad boys!!! 8^) Nothing wrong with Stradas super white paint job either.

I have a different approach. I ride them like I bought them. My Tank 150, once the motor was broken in, cruises at 55, tops hills at 50, top speed is around 62. My TGB Delivery 150 was a swap deal(my 250 Tank for his Delivery, even swap). I is not modified, now has 5700 miles on it, was serviced just before I got it, runs all day at 55 tops out at 65. Fast enough for me. If I need faster I would go back to the 250. There is nothing wrong with modding a scoot if you are into that and have the mechanical skills. Being a rider, not a wrencher(I envy you guys who are wrenchers!!!) I avidly read all the mod articles to see what the results are. We do plan a yet undesigned mod for the 150s this summer. If it works I will figure out how to post pix. If it doesnt work I will tell you why.(this in journalism is known as a teaser line!! 8^) ). I will say this: it will not be a motor mod. Do not think that i am anti-modification, I am just an old guy who is stuck in the Model T age!!

Interesting point, AlleyOop. Mine and MountainMopeds both had a front end shimmy from the PDI on. I had done the rear axle trick that you had mentioned earlier and did correct a loose hub nut. The front wobbles stopped on mine after I used DynaBeads on the front tire, leading me to believe that the tire itself was out of balance to begin with. The more miles I put on it the better it got but was still wobbling too much to suit til I did the DynaBead trick and that stopped it. Come June we are going to try a mod or two on the rear end and I will let you know what we do and how it works once it is done. I still hold to my original comments regarding IceBear 2009 models. I was a rider not a wrencher, no skills in that area, but thanks to my 150-8 I am going to mechanics school. And yes, I still have a love/hate relationship with The Beast.
