I think they look great. I have been looking for some that I can mount for long trips then take off when I am at home. Do you think the brackets on these could be modified some whay to do that? and a link to a vendor would be great.

I don't think so. I converted all of my lights including the dash lights (those were hard and required a trip to Radio Shack and a soldering iron). Depending on your system, you may have to put a device in that regulates the flash rate for the turn signals. I did not, my flash pattern is just fast, wich I like.

My phone has stand alone GPS on it now so I am looking for a secure way to mount it. It is a $500 phone so I need it to be very secure. I have looked at the Ram mounts and I think they are the way to go. Any other suggestions?

I am using a narrow band O2 sensor and gauge to just give me basic 14.7:1 information as I am going to be using the computer tuned CDI to adjust the timing curve. I figure as clost to perfect air/fuel mixture I can get will help the performance of the timing. If not, it will be cool at least. Write ups coming this weekend.

If you are talking about this hose here: I got this idea from a few guys at SD and it works well. It is hot tub hose. It is designed to be chemical resistent and other than discoloration, it seems to be holding up fine now for almost a year. the reason I did it, was it alowed me some wiggle room for my carb and intake where the rubber adapter that came with the intake was ridgid and did not alow movement. I got it at Lowes, and it was pretyt cheap. I got 2' and figure I will replace it every year just out of principle. In fact it is about time. and no, that is not my exact set up now. the pink hose is gone and the vac ports are capped and the filter extention is much shorter.

Charge Rate??

At idle, my gauge reads 12.8 or so, under load, between 13.8 and 14.5. I have not checked it while acrtually riding, just on the center stand and I don't like to hit high RPM's while on teh stand, so 14.5 is about the highest I have seen. Of course I have all my lighting converted to LED so that helps as well.

Thanks Doc! We call her 'The Punisher' 'round here. you mention the "killer dash." It is actually the OEM (well a replacement) dash. It is very nice, and happends to be the only china dash that I know of that is acurate to at least 65 mph (gps checked). lots of new stuff coming for her really soon. Custom exhaust, a very cool looking variator (DR2) from KidnMe, O2 sensor and gauge and a CDI/Coil combo that you can tune your timing curve via your laptop. Hopefully all of this within a week or so!!

I wear pants, boots, armored riding jacket and full face helmet everytime I ride. oh, and gloves. years of mountain bike racing (and wrecks) and a wreck on my very first scooter when I was 15 (wearing helmet saved my life) have convinced me!!

what solved my problem with that intake was a different hose instead of the rubber one that is not flexible. also a 28mm flatslide carb. the carb is shorter so it fits just barely.

Here is what I did with my front intake port. Here is what my final product looks like. and a pic of the full side view of The Punisher just because I think my scoot is bad arse! I haven't had a gasket since the first time I took my cover off. I did put a little RTV selant on it just to cushion the two parts and it works great.

I have seen several people on line with no cover, Skye (ASSC club member here in Utah) that is building the custom "chooter" is going to run his open. I did mine mostly for looks, and for cooling. The paint is heavy duty auto paint, whatever that is, but it works great so far. The clutch bell has close to 1k miles on it (with the paint) with no problems. I am just a little paranoid to run mine open, and I think it looks great. I did 120 miles today, and had no heat problems at all.
