What to do?

Randy, I'm with snakedoc. I am clearly a hotrod/custom kind of guy, but with that specific scooter, I would go with all classic, maybe some oem chrome bling, but other than that, stock.

Here is my version of the oil catch can. Very similar to the one kidnme's prototester used. (I posted it over on the dawg site when I did this a couple of years ago, I wonder where he got the idea ) Take a small K&N style filter and use the fittings to mount it on a plastic five hour energy bottle. Make the screw on top, the bottom of the catch can and you can just unscrew it and let oil drain out. Of course if you are tuned right, you will not be kicking out to much oil. I've been using this for a couple of years with no problem and it works great. This lets the crankcase breath when you take the stock air box off. One thing I forgot to take a pic of was to put in some stainless pot scrubber inside the bottle to help the oil cool and condense without a problem. Cheers!!!

I usually use 30 rear, 28 front. That is what is on the side walls. I'm not adverse to messing with pressure. That goes back to my Mountain Bike racing days when we messed with air pressure all the time. Hell, back home in Alaska when we rode down to 20 bellow, we used to glue the tires to the rims so we could run 25 lbs. for a softer ride and bigger footprint.

The oil for the K&N filters is very different than the oil for foam filters. If they sent you a kit for K&N's you have the wrong oil. The viscosity of the oils is very different. If you use K&N oil on your foam filter it will leak out trust me been there done that.

I use dino 10/30 for break in and 10/40 Penzoil synthetic (used to use Castrol but not since I started boycotting all the BP products I can). Use synthetic in my gear box as well no leak problems. I change my engine oil about every 750 miles or so and the gear box twice per season which amounts to every 1200 miles or so.

Hell, the NCY 59mm kit I originally had and had the cracking issues with the cylinder had thin walls, thinner than the new 59mm kit I have.

I have no idea on the added HP. I do know that some of the kits allow for not boring and some do, regardless of claims. I have heard of some that are able to be used without boring and they have very (read: VERY) thin cylinders that can have durability problems. Keep us posted on your results.

I would hit up enviromoto, monster gy6 or any of the other sponsors, (I have dealt with those two before) they both have the parts you are looking for. the biggest you can go without boring the cases for sure, is a 59mm kit (160cc) and in some cases a 61mm (170cc) kit. It depends and there is no way to know for sure without taking off the top end. for budget concerns, scrappydog is awesome as well as autotech355 on ebay.

Jake can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's looking for a speed increase with hopefully a longevity boost without losing all drivability. exactly.....

Longest ride?

On my 160cc, the longest trip I have been on is 200 miles in one day. The longest stretch was 55 or so miles with no stops, average speed was probably a little less than 50 mph. It was on country back roads so max speeds was 55 anyway. It was a blast. Gonna do a trip to Vegas and back next year (1000 miles round trip) with 250 miles being traveled each day. It is a charity ride for a local school for kids with Autism.
