Walter recommended a #122. Could the A/F need to be turned down?

If you look at this video, you can hear a pop and see smoke coming from right at the intake when I give it gas. I rode it for a while today and thought that the rings would seat themselves and it did not. Power dropped dramatically and it was worse when I got home. I even thought the timing was off a little so I even went back to the stock CDI from the NCY CDI that I had used but no change. The gaskets are dry on the chain tensioner and the intake so there is no oil being forced through then, the exhaust gasket had no indication of oil being present either.
Could the compression be to high? I am only running one head gasket.
Here is a list of mods to familiarize or reacquaint yourself with my project.

LUKE - Thanks Luke that was a impromptu video with the iPad. @ridecheap - I have downsized to a #122 on that Carb and it runs alright. I am not sure if that smoke is from that or something different.

Question

I found the post but the pics are not longer available so I am going to leave that alone until I can figure out how to change the oil in them.
I have another crazy issue though. Of course the charging system on the scoot sucks but I can have a resting voltage on my battery at 12.1 volts, BUT my lights don't work horns doesn't blow or anything electrical. The fuse is good. BUT once I hook up the jump box to it, it comes alive. The logic behind this issue baffles me

Alright will do Alley, I have another question that I know you can answer. There was a thread about some upgrades that can be made to your forks for a decent price but I can not find the post anywhere. Do you remember the name and have a link to it?

I did that and I even replaced the gasket but it is coming from the intake that is the weird thing.

Question

Post by Gti on Mar 31, 2013 16:26:01 GMT -6
Today I was allowing the scoot to run and break in a little more, I tapped the throttle and I got some smoke from underneath the intake. Is this a common problem? What is the best solution for this issue? It doesn't do it all the time but once in a while. I am using the NCY blue intake.

200cc is more than I bargained for. I am having some small issues that need to be addressed and soon.
1. I just rebuilt this engine again because I broke the timing chain and now every now and then I have puffs of smoke out of the exhaust. I am hoping this goes way when I run the engine more.
2. The NCY High Performance Alternator Kit is SH$%. It does not charge the battery at all not even so much as a trickle!!!
3. I THINK i have a little leak between the head and the cylinder. I can not tell exactly because of the shroud.
4. I THINK I need a different variator I am hearing some noises coming from it and I am not sure what the out come is going to be. I am using 17g roller weights. Anyone got any suggestions to make the variator better or suggest me a new one??

I think it had a little slack but it was only because i did not put the tensioner in until I had the cam and everything seated and tightened first. The thing I am questioning is when the screw is in place in the tensioner to keep it from spewing oil, the tensioner does not adjust. What can be done to fix this problem or is it supposed to be this way?

As of this afternoon no more damage. I will go into the case tomorrow but everything appears to be fine.
Alley - this engine has less than 10 miles on it, this is my 200cc nightmare. Not sure why it would be the tensioner would be the issue only because the chain had no slack in it. Could the tensioner itself be defective? I'm confused. Give me a run down on exactly ho9w the t4ensioner works please.

I had adjusted the carb and everything was running fine and I gave it the beans coming up a small hill. All of a sudden the engine died and would not restart. The engine would turn over and overall sounded ok. Upon tear down I found the timing chain was broken!! How does this happen, why does this happen and what can be done to prevent this from happening again?
