That was my yesterday
Previously I had my exhaust header pipe off for welding. Replaced and guestimated 20 ft lbs. While underneath the scoot working on the shifter linkage, i noticed the nuts were loose. Tightened em up, and the blow by was gone. Question: would blue locktite be of any help? (re: heat)
The scoot got stuck in reverse. Had to dissemble the shaft clamp, linkage from gearshift to all that crap underneath, get everything realigned, put trans shaft in fwd, and put back together and tightened back up.
Then off for a test ride, and shure nuf, downpour, monsoon, storm, thunder and lightening. I was worried about the electric connections, but, not even a sputter or flicker.
Yea, so even my scoot needs the occasional wrench. Mechanical I can do, but when electrical happens, I'm an idiot.
Today, had surgery on my stump, removed some bone, so gonna be a day or two before I get back out there and scare the kids.
Scoot on Love Life Hug you kids and tell em u love em

Arrested for having helper wheels? I've never heard of anyone being arrested for using a voyager kit, as it's removable anyway. Granted, it aint a trike, but for those of us that are balance challenged, and dont have deep pockets, a voyager kit may be the easiest/cheapest way to go.

I didn't come here initially cause I had a problem with my chinese scooter, I came here to talk with like minded scooter folk. The problem I did have (broken exhaust header) I was able to diagnose and repair. Was just passing on the info
I like riding, and when not riding, i like talking about scooters. (and girls and beer and football)
I ride like an old man, cause i is one. This is a toy. Not my main transportation. I've learned a lot so far, as I did when I first got my 2002 Honda Shadow Sabre, which I heavily customized to make it my own. And am slowly doing the same with this trike.
So, to each their own, and everyone is happy with what they got (pretty much)
Now, go out and ride, before it starts raining.

The clutch on the Magna works fine thank you. At least it did when I still owned it.
Oh! I get it. B-|You meant a woman's clutch. Maybe, just the right size for the cell and the Ruger LCP. Have a fanny pack with outside pockets for the cell and camera. Just the right size for the Bersa Thunder. I also have a dispatchers bag that was called a "man bag" down in Milwaukee and a F&S Day Bag (big enough for a lap top and files).
Have decided on the VTX yet. I wasn't aware they were discontinued. Still think they would make a good trike. The VTX is a great bike. Lots of power, and would make a good trike conversion. Let the Sabre folks know what you decide And , yea, I got a Ruger LCP, a Ruger 9mm, and a Taurus 357. All capable of stopping a bad guy

Interesting article to this wonnabe but then I checked out his add for "designer" bags at the bottom. No bargain there. Figures A nice new clutch (as in hand bag) would look good on the Magna. Still think a Sabre would be the way to go. But, this article is biased, as are Sabre owners Carry on, old man

I forgot to reply the other day, as I had to think about it, but, yea, Automatic is nice, easy, but nothing like being able to take control, so, I'll say manual also

I quit reading after para 1, where he disses Chinese and goes onto the 'quality' scooters, Kymco, Honda , Yamaha.
".................When it comes to cheapskate maxiscooters, you are going to do better if you can perform some or all of your own mechanical work. It's not that the models suggested need a lot of work, it's just that they often involve a LOT of wrench turning for simple maintenance tasks. .............."
................DON'T fall for the too-good-to-be-true new scooters, usually from mainland China. In many cases, these machines are being sold at fairs, swap meets, low end used car lots, auto parts stores, mobile phone stores and so on............. .
Scanning the rest of the article is a regurgitation of what we talk about here. So, to me, it's just another 'personal opinion' from someone who has the $$ to buy the best, and disses the rest.

You might be surprised to find out how many people have both scooter and motorcycle. I have a mc-79-250 scooter and a 1990 FJ1200 sport/cruiser. Most days it's a toss up on what I ride in to work. For the weekends, it's usually the motorcycle unless I'm just just running around within 10 miles or so.. Congrats on the vstar..now you can start saving for this: www.mtcvoyager.com/voyager-standard-trike-kit/I have my scooter trike of course, and an 02 honda Shadow Sabre, a 85 Goldwing Aspencade, and a wrecked 85 Magna, and a 150cc helix clone Wildfire. And, yes, a couple voyager kits in the future as soon as i get the hondas air shiftered

On my Honda shadow, i just drilled the hole in the cap just big enuf for a jewelers screwdriver, and left the cap in. IF, there's access to get to it without removing the carb. Would also prevent the screw from getting lost if it vibrated loose, which can happen

Maybe a good used car would have been a better mode of transportation for her, like in the rain, or winter days, or at night. Maybe she rode a scooter cause it was all she could afford, but wasn't a real scooter enthusiast. Not bashing, just wondering.
But, a new scooter is always nice
