Alley Thanx for the link Although Martin Racing is Wholesale only, I did get the part number DIA-05-028-3503 and, a place called ultrapowersports.com has the gasket. and it only costs $4.95 And, it only costs $14.95 to ship it Why do I feel so lucky!!!!!!! Thanx Dave

I'm thinking I need a new exhaust gasket for my 300cc 1P73MN Linhai (Yamaha 250). I've looked and looked and can't find the specific reference to the engine and exhaust gasket. And, short of calling Jim, and interrupting his Sunday dinner, I'd thought I'd just post here. I need the gasket where exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold/engine. Seems to be blowing air. I've fixed the exhaust leak where the exhaust pipe connects to the muffler, where it's got that screen woven thingy. Pulled loose, but got it fitted back in, some special exhaust glue stuff, and a better clamp. I tried Scrappydog but couldn't find an exact reference. Me guessing it's 'just like the one for a ?' but I don't know what, (But alley will) and Jim of course So, those parts dealers, get the parts book out and scream at me Thanx Dave

Totally agree I, also, finally got my scoot out, after an oil/gear oil change And it came out only a little dirty,
Only put 50+ miles in before the exhaust pipe came loose from the muffler. Not a system flaw, but a girlfriends son problem When he put it in storage last winter, he high centered it driving it in the storage shed and loosened the connection. Gonna go fix it now, add some coolant, grease the front axle, clean the front pads, and go for a ride, before it starts raining, or snowing, or whatever this odd ball weather is gonna do
So, ride safe, look out for others, cause your life Does depend on it.

on mileage you won't believe, it says about 43,600 miles on the odo, im pretty sure its lying but who knows. ill take a picture of the numbers later. yes kz, half throttle gets me about 30mph, it still has more to give but i dont wanna push it to its limit. 30-35 is ok for wifey. finally i get to see her ride again this morning after 12 yrs. It's one thing to have the wife riding behind ya/psgr, but it's entirely kooler to have her on her own scoot riding beside ya. (even if you're driving the kar with the bathtub on the trailer) jk Enjoy the ride of life

even if the brake pads has only 20% thickness,and even if the caliper is misaligned you won't hear any metal to metal grinding sound, and if indeed there is a metal to metal grinding, you will see an obvious fresh scar on the brake rotor. that's for sure!!! the permanent marker theory is crap, yes of course if you put permanent marker it will surely fade because the brake pad is running through it. it doesnt matter if the gripping of the caliper is not even. bottomline, if you still see pads your'e still good.,, i mean whatelse can touch the rotor except the pads... check the pads, there might be some metal shavings that squeesed in between rotors and pads... good luck!!! in dealing with these kinds of stuff, common sense is very important. Luke For once, I think I gotta agree with ya (to a point) I agree that if there is pad left, you 'should' be ok But, 'something' is rubbing in there, and most likely a metal shard stuck in the pad. And, this time, I could not detect any Asian accent. (or even bashing-good job on ya) And, of course, when all else fails, bring out the 'common sense'.

When I was riding my Goldwing and Shadow Sabre, every spring I Changed oil/filter (screen) changed rear gear oil air filter plug(s)
check brake fluid check air pressure
(cost of oil/filter/plug is minimul)
Add an oz of seafoam each/every other gas fill up

Actually, the front brake should have more stopping power than the rear (70%) Remove the pads, scuff em up (remove any glazing) , ensure sufficient fluid, bleed any air. Ensure piston moves when lever is depressed.

Nothing personal but I probably woulda done broke it in first before making all those performance changes, so's I could compare stock broke in vs after market performance enhancements.
But, I didn't wanna go thru all that and just got the 300cc instead
Yes, there is little to none repair manuals for these scoots
With the increased air flow, not sure if the jetting is correct, but Alley will
But, WTH do I know

Richard I see ya found us. BTW, i have leds for the lic plate lite, cums standard And it has led running lights, standard.
The rear susp is hard as a rock, even with my fat A $ $
