I may be paranoid, but the engine on my Lancer 150 started sounding rougher and louder a couple morning ago. I am uploading a vid so the fine folks here can hear it. I already checked the oil, put a little more in as it seemed low, but no change in the sound. Is it just my imagination?

Don't go changing hoses to soon. I did that and made all kinds of heartache for myself. Every PDI I've seen mentions it, but they are all years old, too.
Yes on locktite and tighten bolts and such. Also it doesn't hurt to change the fuel filter and spark plug. Not too hard to do on a GY6.
Look at the hoses, if they are Rewin EPA (or close to that, I can't remember exactly what they said) then they are fine.
If it starts up and runs, then DON'T go messing with the idle/fuel mix settings. Winter is different from summer, but if it's cold enough to affect the running, it's probably too cold to ride anyway.
Quality control is much better on newer bikes, all the horror stories are based on nearly a decade ago. DO check for debris in the gas tank. Most likely fine, but it doesn't hurt to check JIC.
If you live in the southern states, or western states where the sun takes up about 3/4 of the sky, then get a cover. It's still new, wanna keep it that way for a bit. Also, the sun will dry out the seat in only a few months in Texas summer sun. Better to cover and not need to than the other way around.
One is supposed to change the battery, but for far less I permanently connected a small solar panel and the battery never gives me any trouble.

Sorry about the late reply. Busy busy busy!
I checked the front disc, no problems there I can see. The rear are inside a drum and I can't see a thing. Definately only happens when cold, though. On a really warm day it doesn't happen at all.

It mostly happens when the scoot is cold in the morning.

My brakes have begun to squeek a bit. Not all the time and only in the back. I have yet to reach the 700K mark on the spedometer. I thought it was just moisture but it seems to be more than that.

I got one many moons ago, but hadn't installed it yet. I finally found the harness (on my Lancer 150 it's right below the handlebars) and I am wondering if I should bother putting it in.

That is quite a distance for a 150. What kind is it? If it's a chinese one I wouldn't recommend this. They need to be stopped and allowed to cool every 40 miles. I can get mine up to 50 where it redlines but 40 is the usual speed I maintain on long stretches. At 40, 2100 miles comes to 52 hours if you never stop. I recommend stopping, though, as there usually isn't a toilet installed on these scoots. As I said, a chinese 150 is mostly a city vehicle. If I was just going across town I'd go and not worry about stopping at 40 miles since it would be parked for a good bit, but a long trip the stops would have to be near religiously kept. I'm not saying don't do it, but as stated before, take your time.

Kz, is this the Armorall spray that lays a 'coat' over one's vehicle?
Clonedrone, what waxes/polishes do you use?
Thanks to everyone else. I DO cover overnight, moisture DOES happen here in Texas, no matter what some western movies like to say.

I keep my scooter covered at all times (No, not when I'm riding it, I see you smirking there.) but how necessary is that? Over night or if I can't ride for a few days I can see. I don't bother if I'm just running into a store or the like, as well.
Mostly I'm worried about the Texas sun, having seen some of the things it can do, and the effects it might have on my seat and plastic body.

Oil Filter

Well, I hit that 300km mark and it's time to change the oil and filter. Or I thought we were supposed to change the filter. I already changed out the oil once fresh out of the shop. Online PDI's and the shop both recommended this.
Now I can't seem to find an oil filter for my model, the CY 150 D Lancer. Do I have one of those mesh screens? How hard is it to mess with?

The line on mine is on the top. I put $2.50 in this morning, no problems. There seems to be a metal bar in my tank (Structure for strength maybe?) I think if I never fill past that bar (It's maybe 2" down from the top. May even be to keep the gas nozzle from going to far in) I should be OK.

I figured it was something like that. There IS such a line on mine, and I intended to use a gas can but I may not be able to actually do that as I have no place to leave the can. I'll take a look and see how high the vent is and fill accordingly.

I was told by the people that sold me my Lancer that I should only put in $1 at a time. If I fill the tank the engine would flood. Is this true? Is it something that can be fixed?
