Hey Guys! A guy brought this Moped to me and has asked me to get it going. I have NEVER seen an engine mounted like this. It has a spring... that looks like it pivots down for some reason... It reminds me of a gas golf cart setup. I am guessing the pulley turns with the pedals, turns the variator, starts the engine.? Not sure. I will be doing the normal stuff, cleaning out the gas tank and cleaning the carb and replacing lines. The engine moves right now, and like I said, has a spring... I'm not sure if it SHOULD be able to move, or not??? Thanks for ANY help guys!!! Attachments:

Hey guys! I wanted to see what you guys thought about this idea. I wanna get one of these heaters, or something like it 12VOLT Powered. www.walmart.com/ip/Roadpro-RPSL-681-12-Volt-Direct-Wire-Ceramic-Heater-Fan-with-Swivel-Base-Cooking-with-Calphalon-5-Quart-Hard-Anodized-Nonstick-Chili-Pot-with-Lid/29814912I have already upgraded my Stator/Magneto AND my battery to a 12volt, 12 Amp hour. I can run my 250 watt amp, all of my lights, and I my Magneto STILL gives 13.1-14volts to charge the battery sufficiently. If I get this one or another one like it, I would also make DOORS, for my scoot. Most likely out of Plexi-Glass. Hinge the doors to the front of the scoot, with a quick release pin, so I can take them on and off easily. Attach them to the back with a Velcro strip, so IF, I had to put my feet down, like at a stop, or in a wreck I could do so easily. What do you guys think? Thanks for looking!

Hey Guys! I recently got my Vento Triton 50 running great after a new carb. I also ordered a Jet kit and UNI Foam Filter. The parts came in about 3 days ago, and I took the carb off to put the new Jet in, and realized, it had already been upgraded to .95. The only other bigger one that came in the kit was 1.00, so I went ahead and threw that one in there. I put the carb back on(after cleaning EVERYTHING very well, I also let the PILOT JET sit in carb cleaner for about 2 hours, as I was having a take off issue). I then took the Air box off and clamped the new UNI filter on. It STILL wanted to hesitate on take off, AFTER the carb tuning. I took the carb back off and moved the needle ALL THE WAY DOWN, to the bottom notch. Fired it up, and with the Valves at .005 for intake and exhaust, I hit a solid 42MPH GPS Confirmed. I am very happy with my results, I also went ahead and sanded it down and Spray Painted it black...NOT the Best, but alot better than Sun Bleached! Few other upgrades too(12volt Socket, 250watttAmp 5x7Speakers, Cup holder/Organizer, 12volt 12AMP Hour BATTERY). Attachments:

Thanks alot guys!
I will take pictures and show you guys all the new stuff! It was badly sun bleached, so I sanded it down real smooth and spray painted it flat black, with the middle gas tank plastic yellow as the rims are yellow. I thank it came out pretty good!
I also picked up another 12volt Power Socket to mount, and another set of 5X8s and a 200watt Boss Amp. Just enough to hear over the engine, and not have to worry about being pulled over for headphones!

I forgot to add that I also went ahead and Changed the Gear Oil.
This one is A little bit different than a QMB139. I like that the Vento Triton Engine's Fill cap for the gear oil, is actually on TOP, by the rear suspension shock.

I finally got my new parts in (SCOOTERPARTS4LESS.COM-RANDY WONG) A+++ SERVICE! I RECOMMEND THEM! (UNI FILTER, .79-1.01 Jet KIT)$20.87 Total!
Anyway, I got my carb off, and noticed that my jet on the carb I bought from a local scoot shop(California Cycles, in FL...)was ALREADY upgraded to .95. So I went ahead and upped it to 1.00. I also went ahead and cleaned the carb Again Real Good. Took the Pilot off and soaked it in carb cleaner, then blew it out with the Air Compressor.
I cut the Air Intake hose AT the AIR BOX, and clamped my new UNI filter right on the end. I also pushed the Angled hose, going into the carb, the one with the new filter, Up above the fender and under the gas tank, so it went get TOO wet.
I fired her up, warmed up, and re-tuned the carb. ALLEY - With the new filter on and the bigger jet, and REALLY clean pilot jet, It takes off very smooth now! I do think I will have to check my valves again, as it takes about a mile to get to 38-40mph, and I think I can milk a little more out of it, now that I have my take off problem solved. It sounds ALOT better with the new filter, I would have NEVER guessed MORE AIR, would have helped ANYTHING, as I was pretty sure, just like you said, it was getting TO MUCH AIR, NOT ENOUGH GAS...
I have also left the carb needle set ONE NOTCH BELOW MIDDLE. and AIR/FUEL at ALMOST 3 Complete turns out.
THANKS SO MUCH ALLEY! It has been really fun getting these to Scoots going! AND I would have been lost without YOUR HELP!!!

If I ever come across a scooter that has set for over 6months, OUTSIDE, I always take the tank off and get 2 gallons of gas to wash it out with(take it off, fill it a 1/4 up and shake it, relieve pressure with finger). Then, blow the tank filter out with an air compressor. If it has a diaphragm "petcock", Either change it, or make sure the diaphragm moves back and forth. Then Fuel Filter, Replace it. Check lines for gunk, or just run New gas lines. THEN clean the carb(USE A PIECE OF SPEAKER WIRE FOR THE MAIN AND PILOT JET, PAPER CLIP) make it look Brand New. Buy a new Foam Filter(IF YOU HAVE THE AIR BOX) if you don't, buy something like a "UNI" filter. These engines are USUALLY set up for the STOCK AIR BOX, so with that in mind, try to keep the INTAKE of air close to what it was stock, or tune the carb correctly.
BUT you DEFIANTLY NEED an AIR FILTER
Your in GOOD HANDS with Alley he has helped me out quite a bit!

Headlight and Tail Light, as well as the Gauge Lights, would not come on with either BATTERY, nor while running, STATOR. I tested ALL bulbs, GOOD. All Bulb Holder Connections, (My brake light would still come on). And all the wires coming from my R/R. When I finally just happened to quickly turn the MASTER switch on and off, I noticed a flash! I inspected the switch and found ALOT of Green Corrosion. I took it apart and wire brushed it clean and lube'd it down with die eletric grease, and I now have lights ;D ;D ;D!

The problem that I am having with taking off, SEEMS to get better as the engine gets hotter...
So my next purchase will be another Enricher, I guess. See I just bought a new(USED) Carb from a repair shop, that didn't come with the Enricher. So I went back the next day, since my old one had different hardware. BUT I DO NOT DOUBT that he had no idea if it worked, or not either! haha
ON A BETTER NOTE: I Did track down my faulty switch(HIGH/LOW/FLASH) that was keeping my TAIL light from coming on as well. I will be sure to put this issue up in the Electrical part of the forum, because as you can imagine, I TESTED ALL bulbs, voltage at the bulbs, R/R, Everything, and didn't even think it could be not only a faulty switch, BUT I ALSO HAD THE MASTER LIGHT SWITCH(on the Right, next to throttle) SET TO "OFF"!!!!! Its hilarious now that its over, but I was HONESTLY about to RE WIRE the entire harness! hahaha

Will do first thing in the morning.
That is true about the MAIN JET... IS there anyway to upgrade the Pilot? IF the Enricher is doing its job tomorrow, and is pushing in after it warms up, I might try a good cleaning again...
PS Does the Enricher REQUIRE the battery? or does it come from the Stator?
