OK So I put a new exhaust gasket on, tightened it with it snug against the engine, but I can still hear a leak somewhere, and I am still getting a very small backfire... ALSO When I cover the air-inlet for the air box with my fingers, I can get the scooter to take off, IF I DO NOT cover the inlet, it tries to die when I turn the throttle, I have upped the gas in the carb by ONE notch and that helped for a day, now its doing the same thing... I also ordered a JET SET for the carb and a small foam airfilter to eliminate the air box... THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE!

It could also be a valve gap issue. I say that because it gets better after 10-15mins. To me, it sounds like your valves are warming up and start opening wider.
I know after I adjusted my valve, I gained speed, power, better idle, quicker throttle response. I think its a good idea to at least check to see what gap they are, pick up a feeler gauge and check it. Can't hurt.
Good luck!

Well, you have the top mounting point at least, IDK that it wouldn't be just fine with the one mount and where it meets the engine...
BUT if you decide to fab some brackets, I would make a triangle for the most support possible.
GOOD LUCK!

I would just swap, I thought about spending the money on a bbk, BUT I decided I wanted to upgrade a 157 engine instead... :/
Sorry I can't give an opinion on the best BBK, but depending on your budget, SWAP iT!
Good Luck with your decision!

I'm not sure WHERE my exhaust leak is... I have replaced the exhaust gasket, Everything is tight, Absolutely no HOLES or anything in the muffler, but I still get a Small backfire... AND the only way I can get the scooter to move is to cover the intake with my fingers until about 2/3's of the throttle, then I can take my fingers off and it runs great... Any ideas?? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I will def check my enricher, I bet thats what it is, BUT I dont understand why I can cover the air inlet, coming off the air box, and as I open the throttle uncover it, and it will go full throttle??
No leaks that I can see... at least on the intake(NEW CLAMPS, NO HOLES Etc) COULD IT be a leak on the exhaust side??
THANKS A MILLION ALLEY!

I bought a new carb as I am "Pretty" sure" that was my problem. But now, it will start and idle just fine, but when I give it Any throttle it dies.
IF I Cover the Air Box inlet, and basically, manually choke it, I cover it and slowly let off as I increase the throttle and it will go all the way open and stay running. I think that it is my Auto/Choke, I used the old one off the original carb, as mine did not come with one from a local shop.
I'm sure this is something really small, just can't pen point it. I HAVE adjusted and tuned the carb, all the way in and 2 turns and a 1/4 COUNTER clockwise. No leaks in the intake visible, and it COULD be an exhaust leak or improper valves, I set the valves at .005 intake and exhaust.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I think that I have an Airleak, Mixture Screw Problem, or just a bad carb.
I have cleaned the carb very thoroughly, but I can only get it started after spraying some starting fluid in the intake.
AFTER I have it started, it wont IDLE, if I keep the throttle from 1/4 - WO, it will stay running.
BTW - I have taken the gas tank completely off and wash out with gas, cleaned the carb, new plug, new oil. I really think its an air/fuel problem.
THANKS GUYS!

Thanks man!
They were just gonna continue to lay around if I didn't use them some where!
SMALL UPDATE, I upgraded from 18ga wire, to 14ga. WORLD of DIFFERENCE!
I thought I would need more than 200 watts, even thought about this VERY small 400 watt Rockford(About 4 X 6 Inches), but after the wire upgrade, NO DISTORTION. Also added Ground Loop ISO. When I had the iPod or Phone charging and playing music, I used to get a BUZZ.

Has anyone ever tried to build a custom reverse trike on here? I have been looking into possibly building an R1 600cc Reverse Trike. Probably a BMW318 F/T END, or Mazda Miata, Toyota MR2, Any of the small compact REAR WHEEL DRIVE cars. I am thinking about doing something similar to a Viper 250cc Scooter first, as to practice on a smaller scale. If anyone has ever tried, or know someone that has tried to build one of these, LET ME KNOW! VIPER 250cc(NOT QUITE ENOUGH POWER!) www.bobcatsmotorsports.com/Viper_250cc_Motor_Trike_KD_250MD_p/kd-250md.htm

Thank you Alley! It is connected to the air intake box, valve cover, and the can is, between I believe, I will have to check. But I don't believe it is connected in anyway to the fuel system.
I think it is a PAIR, and EGR setup
Great to know that I will loose nor gain any power.
Hopefully I don't run into many snags while rebuilding this one. I like the frame, body is a Bit more bulky than my other, but I think it will make a good ride!

I just posted in General Discussion, that I have rescued Another 50cc scooter, from a RUSTY DOOM!
I figure this is a better place for a Tech Question.
This owner has ALSO, Given me the scooter. Which is just awesome! More money to spend on the Restore!
I have a question concerning the carbon canister system on this one. My other smaller framed 50cc, does not have this system on it. Is it one, LEGAL to remove, and two, will it increase/decrease power, or cause other problems? I do understand that I would have to RE-tune my carb after removing it, my MAIN worry is will it effect the oil flow of the engine? THANK YOU!!!

Hey guys! Ive been enjoying the WF50cc, that ALLEYOOP, and a few others were kind enough to help me get going.
I now have Another scooter, that I ALSO saved from a rusty puddle in a back yard. 2007 Vento Triton 49cc. Its in pretty rough shape, but comparable to my WF50, that is now floatin like a butterfly!
This is an all around bigger scooter. Bigger wheel base, Disc Brakes, ALOT beefier. This will be a good transplant OR BBK project I believe.
For now I will be happy with: ADJUSTED VALVES NEW PLUG OIL CHANGE(GEAR INCLUDED) NEW GASKETS(RTV) DEEP CARB CLEAN FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN OUT(NEW HOSES, FILTER, PETCOCK)
I will let you know how it goes!
