If the engine was over revved the valves can float (cam and valve moving faster than the spring can react), and the keepers can pop out. If keepers pop out the valve can slip down into the combustion chamber(called dropping a valve). If the piston hits the valve it can damage the piston and valve or possibly the rod, cylinder and head. It is also possible the keepers wore through the valve spring retainer, weak or broken springs, or head damage. In any case be sure to locate the keepers. They can cause a lot of damage bouncing around in an engine. Yep, new head is probably the best solution.

I have resurfaced a couple of heads. The trick is to use a totally flat surface. I have a 12"x12"x2" piece of granite that is flat to within .001". Some people use glass but it must be on a flat surface also. Use 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Use a little water, set the part on the sandpaper and slowly move in a figure eight pattern Do not apply pressure to the part. Aluminum is fairly soft and will sand easy. Just be patient, go slow and be careful. Head gaskets can be reused if dressed with copper gasket seal. I don't recommend it. The gasket is already squished and distorted. You may have to torque the head studs a little tighter to get it to seal, but not likely. Disclaimer: The use of used parts will void warranty and we cannot be reasonable for damage, injury, or disappointment

I had a tiny tach I just velcro'd it to the dash. I now have a koso digital dyno dash. This is how I mounted it. It came with bar mount but couldn't use them. The bracket is a 3" l bracket. Roy

I agree with bashan, probably need valves adjusted. You should also check that the fuel tank is venting. I agree with alley, the ticking after you shut down is the popping and ticking when the metal starts to cool. It is possible the engine is running a little hot it might be lean, missing shroud, ect..

I agree with Bashan. It is probably a safe bet to connect the two red/black wires together and the blue/yellow and blue/white together. The blue/white should be from the pickup coil and goes to the ignition trigger pin on the cdi. The red/black is a/c from the stator to the a/c power pin on the cdi.

I have done a few mods to mine already and I am not done yet. I just might do a total upgrade and start over. Do you know what they are changing?

I ride trikes for several reasons. They are somewhat safer than two wheels but still dangerous. If fall over on a trike, I'm doing something seriously wrong.

It was a broken wire. right where it comes out of the harness. It made a sharp bend down to the fan and was pinching against the frame.

Problem solved. The fan is a major pita to get to though. I had to almost completely disassemble the trike to get to that sucker. I extended the wires from the temp sensor in the radiator and fan wires so the plugs are in a easier spot to get to. I also installed a switch and relay so I can turn the fan on manually. The relay Is so The battery don't go dead if I forget to turn it off.
