Rich! Send me a box of RR's for my water-cooled 250! LOL I've burnt up 3 of them so far. Another reason to convert it. Rich only has 4 pin regulators , how many wires on your regulator ? I may have something for you . John

I'm not 100% on the 250's check the wires on the ignition switch , one wire will be constant power key on or off , then another wire will get power when the key switch is in the run position and off when turned off . If it were a 50 or 150 Rich is correct the red is constant power from the battery , the black is switched power meaning it only gets power when the key switch is in the on position .
I hope this helps !!!!!

The R/R that came with my scoot is stamped "XFT1B01B 110220". Does FLP denote something like floating ground? No, I haven't gotten a response from John. I filled out the form on the "contact" page of nycscooterparts.com. Is that the right way to get ahold of him, or should I have used the aol email address listed on the contact page? Check your spam from tvnacman@aol.com My response was you should call . John

The fan should not run mist of the time , it should cycle on and off . If your getting steady run of the cooling fan you may have a cooling system problem .

wiring it wrong could have burned it out . the green from the scooter and the two greens on the cdi go together , leave the black's off , red to red , green/white to the blue ,yellow to black/yellow . if it runs black to black/white otherwise you won't be able to shut it down .

I am betting that the chain is being put on wrong with the SLACK on the bottom and tight on top OR another possibility is the chain is on the wrong Sprocket on the crank. The outside Sprocket on the cranks are usually smaller, the chain goes on the bigger sprocket next to the bearing. Alleyoop 2nd this

check the running voltage from the negative battery and the anode side of the blocking diode . tell us what you get at idle and at 4000 rpm .
