Most my body panels are badly scuffed/deep scratches/cracked. Looking at Valley scooters I see they have a complete set of body panels for $100 new but it's says Motorino CLassico/Jalon Venecia style. My scoot is a Jonway sunny QT-6 style. I'm just wondering if the set would bolt onto my frame properly. Valley doesn't have all the panels for my scoot. The entire front end is held on with zip ties, plus the front fender is mostly gone.
Any ideas or does someone know where I could get a complete set cheap? Even a used set as long as it isn't scratched deep or cracked up like mine.

If it helps, the parts scoot was kept in a storage building. If I do try to repair it, I will have the frame sandblasted and then powder coat or seal it myself with undercoating paint. Depends on if anyone around me offers powder coat.

Took my little scoot for a decent ride today - about 16 miles each way and she sat for several hours between going there and coming home. Anyways, she used entire tank of gas. But she ran pretty good, didn't seem to be throttling high or anything like that. Don't think she's running rich because the sound is right and no fuel smell in the air. I'm thinking it was just old gas cause I haven't filled her since I got her, been too cold to ride.
2010 Jonway YY50QT-6 engine which from what I found online is the QMB139. So some questions: 1. Any idea where I can download a manual that will give me all my fluid capacities as well as repair info? 2. Considering replacing the plug, what specific NGK plug do I need? 3. 10W40 oil is recommended but I usually run something heavier in cars. Although most my cars are usually older than my boys (20 yrs old or more) so that is why I usually run a heavier oil. And how much does it hold? 4. I know seafoam is recommended but I have several bottles of gumout fuel system cleaner. Since she probably hasn't been cleaned out in a while, is it safe to run that instead of the seafoam through a tank of gas? 5. speedometer doesn't work but looks like it is attached properly at the wheel, if I understood other posts on here so I gotta pull the covers to check the connection to instrument cluster. 6. How do I access the lights so I can see about maybe ordering LED bulbs to replace mine? Living in the country, I'd like as much light as legally possible. 7. Most my body panels are in pretty good shape but could use new paint. Not sure about the bolt holes though because many panels are zip-tied in place so thinking the mounts for the screws may be gone. 8. What do I use when I drain the tranny and how much? 9. What weight gear oil do I need? 10. What about oil filters on these scoots? 11. Anyone know fluid capacity for a TANK 250DE for oil/tranny/gear and what spark plug it takes?
I tend to do a good tuneup on any vehicle I get if the former owner can't show me receipts proving it was done recently. With it finally getting warmer, I want to give both our scoots a tuneup. I'm guessing 2 qts of oil will do both scoots and get like an 8-12 oz bottle of gear oil?
Also, any ideas on getting a 72cc or 80cc kit to upgrade my little scoot? I know she'll still pass for legal but maybe then she can climb these hills doing more than 15 mph.

Just curious here, what length of each would be needed to replace the lines on 2 50cc & son's Tank 250. I see some @ Dennis Kirk sold in 5' length, would that cover all?

No worries Bashan, like I said I'm an old country girl. It's real hard to offend me. When I was a little kid back in the 70's (yes showing my age here) my dad was a firefighter here in Salisbury NC & then Myrtle Beach SC. He told me they used to go to the groc store and buy cases of feminine pads to keep in the firetruck. Now this was way back before paramedics, hard to believe we once didn't have them. Anyways, back then they couldn't do much first aid for people, only basic stuff. But if they got a bleeder, they'd put a pad on it and wrap it tight, he said it kept people alive quite often.
My grandpa was an old country pastor & contractor and I spent lots of time with him during the summer. My dad spent 6 yrs as a firefighter, then the rest of his life working in a siding factory. But my family believed all of us kids should be able to take care of ourselves if we decided not to get married. So us girls learned basic care care, like tuneups and changing a flat and the boys learned to cook a little and sew a little. I just preferred the cars over sewing, but I love to cook too.
I am currently studying "tiny houses" and off the grid living on the net. My older son has moved out and probably not long after he graduates college my younger son will as well. So I won't need a big trailer for just me. Got a friend who can maybe get me an old trailer, maybe a reefer. I want to use it as the base and design my own tiny home, if I can get a reefer, then most the insulating is already done for me.
If it works, then I'll just get me a small piece of land, set the trailer up, put in solar power, get satellite internet, add water and I'm good to go. I'll have the scoot to get around on. Or I may buy me a small motorhome so I can travel, the possibilities are endless.

Just wondering what kind of hobbies people on here have? Me, it's a little bit of everything. I'm not a typical woman - I enjoy restoring antique furniture and most my furniture is stuff I restored. Love working on cars so I end up doing it for my sons & their friends. I do paint by number kits but its the level 3 kits - really detailed. I like model car kits but I'm kinda picky, like the old cars/firetrucks. Currently have 7 cats & spend lots of time outdoors with them in warm weather. My cold weather hobby is writing, just an amateur but it gives me something to do when I'm not feeling up to getting out of bed. I have fibromyalgia, along with a few other probs, so sometimes have days I can barely get out of bed. I'm a huge Marvel fan so most my writing has been Marvel related fan stories. My younger son's friends say I'm a cool mom (even though I'm over 40, lol). My stories are here if anyone likes to read stuff like that. archiveofourown.org/users/critterlady/worksSo what kind of hobbies does everyone else enjoy?

I browsed a bunch of places b4 considering getting a scoot. I'm an old country girl so I was raised to be independant & plan ahead. Figuring cost of common repairs is actually a factor I consider when purchasing ANY vehicle.
I appreciate all the greetings and look forward to new friends. I do have plans for both mine & son's scoots. I want to upgrade the lights for better night riding or maybe add some. I also want to paint my scoot, I can think of better colors than black. I have even considered the possibility of replacing the wiring, I've heard a lot of these small scoots have cheap wiring. I want to make some kind of luggage rack for hauling groc that doesn't interfere with the gas cap & isn't a milk crate.

Truck ran pretty well but had noticeable rust throughout body panels. Getting this parts scoot didn't figure into my plans, the guy just added it last minute. Originally, I had planned to sell the truck & buy 2 scoots but since we ended up w/ a 50 & 250, looks like I got the better deal. Living off disability alone, I couldn't afford to keep the truck tagged/insured & gassed up to go places. My brother suggested a scoot for me & motorcycle for my son, he feels I don't need that much power for my little groc store trips & such. Until I got the scoot I'd only been passenger on a bike so this will get me used to how it handles vs being in a car but I plan to trade up to a larger scoot one day.

Best thing is mine doesn't require insurance, here in NC no tag/registration/insurance needed for 50cc. Living off disability is hard when 75% goes to keep a place to live. I miss my truck but I live within 5 miles of just about everything I need. By winter 2014 I will have cold weather overalls so I can ride more, just couldn't find my size in store cause everything was on clearance by the time I got my scoot.

Back in early Feb I traded a pickup for 3 scoots, a running 49, a parts 49 & what we were told was a 150 but instead seems to be a 250. Here's the parts scoot info: Mfg : Benzhou Vehicle Group April 2008 The cover for the nose reads Roketa. Side panels read MC-08-50B VIN: LD5TCBPAX8******* I can't find a tag on the engine like I found on my little 50, nor is there a tag inside the seat bucket like on my son's big scoot.
I have a bunch of pixs on photobucket, here's the album link, didn't want to post so many here at once. s67.photobucket.com/user/genseeker13/library/Part%20scootI have no idea if this scoot was running or when it last ran, the engine is partly disassembled. My older son has seen the fun me & younger one have & now he thinks he might like one to play around with. I'm pretty handy with tools & I have done 90% repairs to my vehicles for well over a decade, everything from rebuilding carbs to tranny work to engine work. And if I think something is outta my experience, my baby brother has spent the last 20+ years working as a mechanic, both in garages & out. He even works on ATV/2 wheelers for people cause it's hard to find a shop around here. Basically, what I'm wondering is does anyone think this might be worth trying to save or should I just use it as my brother suggested - to get experience working on scoots myself? My brother also knows a guy local with a junkyard, we were out there the other day and he has prob 20-30 scoots in various condition that we could get parts from.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a disabled mom with 2 grown boys. Ended up trading my Mazda truck for scoots when I realized I couldn't afford to keep the truck on the road & have a place to live. Anyways, I have pixs of my scoot on PB. According to the tags I found on it, the scoot is matching parts which to me is good, means nothing major has gone wrong. Have only ridden it a couple times due to cold weather (got it early Feb). But, all I've done so far is replace rear tire with one off a parts scoot & change the battery fuse from the old glass style to a bladed fuse. Here's the info from the ID tag (not bothering with VIN): Mfg : Zhejiang Jonway May 2010 Engine tag: 2010 YY50QT-6

He got it running. Turns out the idle screw was also out all the way. It looks just like the models in the link above. Been raining now a couple days so haven't been able to get out & get a pick but from what I can find on Tanks on the net, its a Tank 250DE.
He loves this scoot but ideas on where to buy new panels? Several of his are cracked and since it's black, he'd like to paint it something that would show up better in low light.
Also, is it possible to change the lights to something brighter, like LED or something?
