I see glavey's project as just a pastime, hobby, experimenting, tinkering or what ever you wish to call it. For fun and learning. His sharing the project with us is appreciated as we could all learn something about a common interest. Keep it coming my friend.

Not sure if I like the rear fender mockup,,, you need to trim it back a bit,, it looks like an afterthought ,, like a piece of paper taped on the back of the rig

kz, I like your reasoning. Return on investment is very logical.

I agree Borg. It doesn't pay to use negative ads especially when the Scout is so good. Negative? What's negative? Got a good machine, then make it appealing to the kind of people who like that look. :-[You could put that engine in anything, heck even a crotch rocket but Indian knows who wants these machines and that's why it looks like it does.
When you win the lottery KZ be sure to buy the right attire to go with this beauty!

A very big negative on THAT attire. It's Harley Davidson attire and you could get some very negative reaction from wearing it while riding another brand.

GM and Chrysler should have done like Ford and gotten there monies indirectly. Personally I haven't a gripe about that. They where required to repay and kept people employed. The credit card company "bail out" on the other hand destroyed a lot of people's lives.
And to keep it on topic, that is why I'm not riding a scooter at this time. But, I keep working towards it and keep smiling.

As long as I can remember scooter/mopeds have required motorcycle license plates but under 49cc didn't require a motorcycle endorsement on a valid drivers license. Insurance and restrictions also applied. That's the way it should be. Also in Wisconsin a DUI can be issued if your are observed to exhibit intoxicated symptoms, have the keys readily available and the vehicle, even parked in a garage, in proximity. The vehicle doesn't need to be a licensed motorized vehicle.

Take plenty pictures of disassembly to help in the reassembly. And keep every thing well organized and labeled. And if in doubt, ask questions.

Ah! No! I'm not going to ask. I'll just wait and see. I wasn't taken in. Something just didn't smell right.

Take advantage of the situation and do work on other aspects of the project. Or start another little one.

I've never had a full meal at a restaurant in the south so never heard of that. Us'n Yankees have such on the side table. And never heard of cheddar cheese on apple pie. How bout mater sandwiches? Or Hog head cheese? If you mean tomato sandwiches, love "em. Head cheese is just plain yuky.
How about gravy on your French fries, apple sauce on fried potatoes and potato pancakes?
Cottage cheese in your scrambled eggs? Left over spaghetti?
Cream style corn on your mashed potatoes?
And give me a Cushman any day.

I have used on of those on a motorcycle and found I needed to use a spark plug in a lower heat range. The repair insulated the plug and made it run hotter. That may not be the situation in your case but, check the plug for signs of running hot. It's similar to running the engine lean.
