Bashan that's an 'e-Moto Ridge 450' 24 volt with pedal assist. But it's dead and I think it's the spindle motor. When I rotate the wheel forward it goes crunch, crunch, crunch and only vibrates and humms under power. Oh well it was a good three years.

I wouldn't put too much trust in that solar charger unless it has a built in regulator. They are good for a large car battery but that little thing in a scooter may be over charging. Especially on sunny days.

Those short trips also cause condensation to build up in the oil and the synthetics are less prone to that. It's cheap insurance.

A long list of necessary mods and he calls it "perfect". I'd have to see some better support. There's not many dealers yet.

Thanks for the write up. I just wish I had kept up on the electronics so I could follow that better. There may be some questions later after you get the project closer to completion. Wish I could afford a print bot. It would also be great for model railroading, etc..
I'm surprise with you assessment of acetaminophen (Tylenol). I had an accident in 2000 with a concussion and fractured skull and was on 8000mg a day for two weeks, 6000mg for a week and then 2000mg for another week with no ill affects. It's the only thing I can take for pain that doesn't affect my bursitis and gout. And it's also very affective for anxiety, which was it's original intent.

Are those the K&N filters that give such great economy because they do such a poor job of filtering the air, the oil coating attracts dirt like a magnet and cost sooo much less than paper filters because you clean and reoil them yourself?

It's totally unsafe for the pedal bicyclist as well. Not only no face protection but also no puncture resistance.

I didn't find anything to laugh about. That was too much like some of the motorcycle forums I've been on. And why I like these kind.

What I see in the photo is that it reads in both MPH and Km/H. Just like my motorcycles did. And my cars from the '70s. If the MPH is the larger print then the odometer reads in miles and if the Km/H is the larger print then the odometer is in kilometers.

And here I was always under the impression that scooters/mopeds where nothing more than simplified motorcycles. Now I find out they are in reality overly complicated bicycles.

Yes. I have lit my cigar in my '61 Buick with the factory cigar lighter. I've charged my phone and gps as well.

You know that thing was invented for BICYCLES right? Bicyclist don't plant there faces like some moped riders?
Just yesterday I had a woman pull out of a Pay Day Loans lot right in front of me. If I hadn't been aware that she wasn't paying attention I could have kissed her thru her mini-vans window.

Also being new to these machines I believe I have the same question. Is there literature that describes the different types, engines, drive trains, sources to purchase locally and availability of maintenance items. In short how to make an informed choice. While this site and the great people here will be an excellent source of information AFTER the purchase, a little fore-knowledge is always welcome.
