I'm not sure if this is the correct category to post this but I was curious what everyone's worst crash/accident while being on a scooter?

Me: Two weeks ago my yy250t hydroplaned and I was flown off at 50mph on a 35, causing my right clavicle to snap in half and bruised my right side of my ribs where as I couldn't breath for a week. My helmet, which became horribly banged up, saved my head. The scooters right side is damaged, not too bad though... nothing I can't put back together with simple fiberglass work. Still have some wraps and stuff on me atm which are expected to come off in 6 more weeks. A week after all this happened, I'm still scootin' my broken self everywhere

The worst  crash my scooter had was when I first got it. I went to go around to the other side to look at it while holding on the the handle bar and it fell on it's side

Lossing a rear wheel bearing coming into a long right sweeper, went into a tank-slapper and slammed into the guard rail on the left side. Rode that for 80' and then did reverse barrel rolls down the hill and into the stream.


Worst of that was the bent frame. The rest was fixable.



That's where my foot was. I had "third degree" friction burns on my butt and below the knee, with the shine bone exposed and lengthwise fractures. That lead to an infection that came close to amputation.
That is my only mentionable on-road mishap but plenty off road thrills.

Hope you heal quickly and I'm glad to hear you got back on the pony.

I wrecked a 150 at about 15 mph. A dog chased and tried to run in front of the front wheel. Scooter did a somersault, broke or scratched every piece of plastic on it, broke the steering bearing probably bending the frame. I got it home and have never touched it since in a year and a half. I figured it would cost almost as much to repair as it cost new. Certainly more than it was worth.

My worst was when I hit a deer but thankfully all the damage was done to the scooter and not me. Glad to see that you are still able to come on line and type after that terrible accident, and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hit an oil slick in Atlanta and got beat up pretty bad. No broken bones and rode the BMW 800 home with a bent wheel. After reading the other accounts on this thread I feel very lucky.....especially you Dave....one tough SOB dude.

Worst scooter crash I was in, was my own dumb fault. .. I was jumping a Honda spree over a picnic table and when I landed, the frame snapped in half

It was one I walked away from but I had road rash and a soar body for almost a month afterwards.

The worst I've ever been in is going down on gravel at a couple miles per hour thanks to potholes, just scratched up my scooter a bit. The worst I've witnessed was my brother who hit a small jump on his Honda Elite 80 going 40 MPH, then hit the ground sideways and was drug by his bike for 79 feet. I can still go back and see the damage to the bridge to this day.
