Well, they work really well with a projector, as far as a reflective surface, I've never seen any used with a fluted halogen style reflector- this of course is only going off my knowledge of bicycle lighting. Depending on the type, and amount depends on how to use it's light the best. The best bike lights- using leds- usually have projector lenses, or none at all, those for automotive use have projectors, for better spread of light- which many(5x6 replacement lights) don't do a good job of. They don't generate heat, but their circuitry can very well do so, which is why some have heatsinks. Still probably not as hot as halogens, though.

I'm also looking for Vento forks, since they're much stiffer than those walmart mtb forks gy6 bikes come with.

Are you sure nut didn't come off and shock closed down? Nope, it broke, what you see is the spring portion against the frame of the bike, the upper mount is completely facing opposite direction, the rod snapped off the uppermount. What I have found locally(as no money to order online, or aftermarket better stuff) is at my local honda dealership; is a set of oem PCX150 rear coilovers, that I suspect are better than any oem replacement china gy6 coilovers. From what I've found, the PCX is 422, with a higher rear ride hieght, 14" rims, and possibly being 122lbs heavier, possibly has a sligjtly greater payload capacity, my point; unlike my bikes 335mm coilovers, it has 313mm coilovers, although it's possible the upper points could be mounted lower in the frame, I don't see them being a little shorter being too bad. I'm sure they're stronger higher quality, and they're adjustable, and I might be able to have them adjusted about 3notches. I%ve read where people have mentioned the 150&300cc models ride pretty stiff, and some others have said they ride soft- which may be the 125 model, as the posters were either in the uk, or taiwan. I did wonder about the design of the valve body being on top, versus on the bottom. I also wonder how often the shocks fail on gy6 bikes, I ride my fiance a lot, she wieghs about 180, and I'm about 220, and it has a 310 wieght limit, which I think is mainly the coilovers, since accelleration isn't really that bad, just a few seconds slower to 35mph(a little faster in cool weather), it'll reach 45-50 with us, and climb steep hills at around 35mph.

V Star is Yamaha. I think Polaris owns all three of those. Can-Am, Indian and Victory. yeah, that's right; Polaris owns Indian, and Victory, not sure on Can-Am, Can-Am is Bombardier.

utterly grenaded today, we went over or in to something, and blam, noise, rubbing, we get off, and the bike is laid out like a Rukus. I can see the shock body, and springs, it's the rods that have disapeared. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/58/f0/5a/58f05a4ba1b741415586aa26557b5a67.jpgSo much for going to the concert we were going to go to, I need to find replacement, non oem style coilovers. I hate this citys screwed up roads.

Most mopedders swear by perelli, and Michelin, so if perellis scooter tires are junk, I'd look for some Michelins. Dunlop might even have something.

True lol, i like the look of the outlaw and it is a bigger looking scooter compaired to some 150's.. but unfortunately the outlaw wont be seeing the road again as im not renewing the rego. Problem after problem with the outlaw and im over spending time and money on it so it just sits in the shed for now if there was a way I could get it from you, I would. They do have to be registered here, being 150s, but here in ky, they don't bother you, and I don't even run a flag. I'm not working, and my fiance needs a scoot.

Too bad you can't hang that bodywork on something that runs better,,,it's a shame all he'd hafta do is get another bike that has similar bodystyle. Mist gy6 bikes use the same chassis depending on size/engine displacement, and such as certain 150 Tanks, Jonways, and Peace Sports, do have a very similar body, that may actually use same body mounting points. If I wanted to, I could add a floor mount fuel tank as a secondary, and only need a hoke cut, because some 150s have a floor tank versus rear. It's like a Grand Marquis, and Crown Victoria, same Pather chassis, similar bodystyles, but slightly different mount points for some things.

I put an h4 led in my klx....100% better than stock h4. White light not yellow or blue tint. Bulb cost me around $55 and is not quite a perfect match for the reflector but I can live with it. It does have 2 distinct light patterns for high beam and low beam unlike the cheap chinese ones. on low beam is a little less power and it does have a pattern on each side on low beam and I have found out how to shield it so it is not objectionable. In a few years all head lights will be LED and then the reflectors will be totally designed for them. They have been selling aircraft landing lights that are LED for about 5 years now and you better believe they are good and you might need a loan to buy a set. john yeah, I gotta figure something out.

Halogens are HOT and LEDs are not. At least no where near Halogen heat. Yeah, they are, but are they hotter than the regular S2's, and will they put out better light. Either way, to not have a lil blob of light just thrown about, to properly make use of the reflector, the bulbs need a front shroud if not a halogen projector. Both bulbs I believe are 35/35w. www.amazon.com/Chinese-Scooter-Light-150cc-Jonway/dp/B008C8WDR0These are what it came with...70s xmas lights www.rockymountainatvmc.com/images/prod/275/s/sar_14_bul_s2_hal-35_35w-1446880001.jpgThese(random pic found) are the halogen replacements. I would like to go LED, most of the led bulbs I've seen have horrible spread, that are for freeform housings. I'm not sure how well they work with a projector either, if I could go projector, I would need to make what wouod basically be a quad headlight system with two bulbs, where when highbeams are activated, another set of keds are turned on behind a differently shaped projector that gives a wider spanse of light. But back on the halogen S2s, if I could rig up an on/off switch in line, because the drls are plenty bright themselves, even though I had thought about slightly brighter leds for those, I do no more than an hour of night riding anyway, and I was already thinking of running a relay conversion, and possibly a small capacitor, to keep the load off the switch, and to keep the light from dimming when rpms drop to idle. static1.squarespace.com/static/533e0523e4b0fb7f79ff16da/5346d27ce4b0900bf649dd41/54f09e7ae4b0cf45047444b8/1425055359331/20150226_130906.jpg?format=500wThis is the bike I have.

My 14 Quantum uses storefront sign bulbs called S2's light output is horrible, most of that I attest to the freeform reflector design. I almost considered HIDs, but I don't want to melt everything attatched to the handlebars, the led drls are brighter than the bulbs themselves. I have a few ideas:
-Using a shroud, can't remember what the type of headlight is called, but it has a shield iver the bulb, so that all the light is bounced back to the reflector for better usable lighting, and switching to the S2 halogen bulbs.
-Using halogen projectors, but I'm not sure how well the scoots with the halogen projectors put out light
-Thinking about trying to retrofit some leds for headlights, shrouded.
Can't for the life of me remember what those types of halogen housings are called, and it's really irratating me, the kind with the shroud over the bulb.

The only problem I have with the 250gy6 bikes is that the body takes on a more touring style, like the japbikes; Silverwing, Morpeus, etc. None of them seem to be any sort of sporty at all- which is what I want in a bike, not that long, heavy look. I used to want a 250Helix, but I don't want a scooter that corners like a H/D, the sportest 250 I've seen so far is the BigRukus. They should figure out how to put the 250 in a 125/150 chassis.
