You are well within the heat deflection temperture or HDT of acrylic, which if I recall was 190F. For practical purposes you need to keep 30 to 40 deg F below that so, I see no problems... Chinese acrylic...who knows...

Oil Leak

Put a newspaper etc under the engine so you can tell were the drip originates...if it is from a case seam and you are using synthetic oil, go back to regular dino oil and the leaks will usually stop... I found that 10W/40 works best...

Drain screw where on the float bowl?..you could jut be missing a screw..they tend to fall out..it is a 6 mm metric fine
But if you have varnish in your tank, chances are it is in the carb..so try running it, but if it doesn't start you need to take off the float bowl and clean the carb and run fine wires through the jets and small passages...carb clener will help, but you need to physically clean the carb well, and change the fuel filter...use one designed for gravity feed system, not a car...

The problem is the BN engine is wider and it also has a second gear box on the rear...I'm surprised they aren't available because they sold them last summer...Pegasus etc..
I have no idea about the watercooled...I know on my Lifan there is a 250 cc watercooled version that fits the same frame...
Didn't CFMoto use a water-cooled 150?

Ya.. these are interference engines like the old VWs...the top of the piston and the valves share the same space...if they don't play nicely with each other ..hole in piston...or bent valve

Why was your oil low with only 400 miles on the scooter? You need to check that more often...like every week
I suspect with low oil and high heat you had a soft seize... not enough lubrication...you likely haven't done much damage yet. But you need to change your oil immediately and do not overfill it...read the manual I forget how much the 50cc take...not a full quart or certain..
The mufflers always make sounds on these scooters as they cool or heat up.

You should be running 87 octane in a GY6.. sounds like you had a vapor lock...common in hot weather

Yeah these engine aren't designed to run WOT very long...most manufactures have different redlines but generally they are between 7600 and 8200 RPM
You want to keep them about 7500rpm at the most...but the tachs are as unreliable as the speedos...so it is guesswork ;D
You can do a bit with changing you top speed and keep your RPMs in a comfort zone by messing with the rollers and rear gear ratios...
Trial and error mostly and ever brand is different...

GY6 Project

Great Rich..I just want to remind people that the clutch washer under the locknut only goes on one way.. the washer has a slightly beveled edge on one side and this goes against the locknut...facing out from the clutch.
I can see from the picture you have it right.

Ya I agree close counts in horseshoes and GY6. ;D I think the T is actually the firing mark, which is about 8 degrees advanced, but never the less, if you set it up like you describe Rich, the cam chain is on the right link...
That's all the matters...

Glad it is vented... it is a CFMoto, better build quality too.....but most units aren't vented and that housing is superior to the average Chinese GY6..it is also considerably larger.
I'm just recommend that people need to consider heat and venting , or you will have a melt down...

Check your fuel hoses for drips with the engine running...Also a cracked fuel filter...
Brake lever... you need to replace the whole unit and reservoir and then bleed the brake lines...
Check the suppliers ads at the top of this page below the banner

Sounds like you could have a vapor lock in the fuel system..loosen the gas cap and see if starts all the time...
Some compnents like the igniion coil, the Cdi and the pickup coil can be effected by high temperatures as well..they work at night, but not in the sun kinda thing...
