@just - I will I had the ability to quit this project. I know it is going to kill me but I can not fail. I will not fail and I will get this one right. I know that this has been an expensive session for me to learn but I have honestly enjoyed venturing out into the world of the GY6.
@alley - I am going to finish this one and get a Honda that I refuse to touch!!! I am going to ride it till the wheels fall off.

Today after many many weeks of mindless attempts to put together an engine using a ton of parts that I had purchased only to come to the realization that the kit that I purchased form Partsforscooters has a wider stud pattern than a "normal" I believe that spacing is 80.5. Here is the problem. When I had the piston shaved to accommodate the +4 crank, the machine shop messed up the case, now I need to find another case to finish the build. Any suggestions?

Got the scoot running today and i almost imediately sprung a oil leak from the bottom of the case. So I am going to tear it back down and do something different. Has anyone ever heard of or used aluminuk gaskets? Here is the web addy. Render opinions please. www.gy6streetlegal.com/

Well I finished the engine today and installed it on the bike. Problem 1 occurred when I realized that the air filter was ripped. I have a 30mm carb so if you have suggestions for a good one let me know. Problem 2 is that when i try to turn over the engine, the solenoid clicks and the starter does nothing (High Torque), so I pull it out of the engine and see if it will do anything outside of the case, Nothing. So I switch to another starter, same problem, same trouble shooting methods and the same results. The battery has 13.396 volts at the battery and again at the solenoid.

I have gotten close to the end of the build of this engine and I just noticed a problem with the head studs. I know there are two sizes but with my BBK and stroked crank should they all be the same size? Which side does the longer studs go on and which "way" is up? There is a long shank on one end and a small one on the other.

When I tighten this fastener the crank refuses to urn. I have used assembly lube and the crank still refuses to spin once this one is tightened. It has been a while since I put this together and I can not remember if this one is needed in this location!!

I didn't try that but I put it together without the gasket and all that to see if it would still do it and it did. But if I get time tomorrow I will try to do each half to see. I thought the case was a bit dry to I coated everything with motor oil, was going to try some assembly lube to see if that would help.

I haven't even gotten as far as the head. If I get a chance tomorrow I will shoot a quick video. Alley if is one that I have learned from you and this experience is to check and double check as you go along. So at the pint I am at now is the engine is no further than putting the engine halves together. I check to make sure the engine and chain will spin free and the chin is not bound up. I can turn the engine to a point and when the crank arm would be at TDC the engine will not turn, the chain is still attached and all else seems fine.

I recently purchased a +4mm crank from Scooter elements, and had my piston shaved, when trying to the case together yesterday, when i put the fastener in the case and tighten it up, the cr5ank will not spin freely. Why? This is perplexing and I am almost at my wits end with this project!!
Thanks in advance1

Thanks Just. I am not overly mechanistically inclined. But the biggest problem I have is time, time is never on my side. So more times than not I am rushed, and since when I started, I knew nothing about scooters I have come a long long way, not to mention this is my only mode of transportation other than getting rides from family and friends. I appreciate all of the help you guys have offered and I can not Thank everyone enough for that. Most forums will make you feel stupid, but you guys are down to earth.
