Actually, yes! It did help quite a lot, thank you usmcdoc. Also, thank you Alleyoop for adding my bike to my signature! So I guess I know why my foot brake is so strong now!

I can't say I've ever had a dog ATTACK me while on my scooter, but one of our neighbors let their dog run loose this past summer, and I was riding in the back of our neighborhood when a dog just SHOT out in front of my bike. I hit the brakes as hard as I could but still ended up hitting the dog. Luckily it was quite a big dog so it walked away with just a limp (or, ran). The front plastics on my bike were damaged. Kind of hard to go find the owner of the dog and tell them that you hit their dog, but it was okay, so they understood.

Brakes

Well, I can't exactly verify the types of brakes on it, seeing how it's in storage at the moment. All I know is that there is no brake fluid to change (that I know of). It's a 2003, and I have no idea what model it is. Nobody has been able to identify it. The front brake lever is on the right, and my back break is a foot brake. This picture used to be in my signature, but it got removed...

Maybe it is the barrel type...it just doesn't look like it would fit on my bike.

Yes, the front brake should give u ??% of your stopping power. When u get it out, check the pads and rotors, or replace the pads, bleed the lines, etc. But, not knowing what u got makes it difficult to determine which brake switch Check the list of vendors above for a start Do you have to bleed the lines if you don't have brake fluid? Can somebody link me to a tutorial on changing the pads/where i can get some pads? Neither, actually. When my handle is depressed, it lets a small spring come out and make a connection. It is not a standard brake application by any means...

Brakes

I just remembered something from when I had my scooter out..People keep saying that the front brake gives you most of your braking power, but on my scooter, that is not the case. It's actually the opposite. The back brake gives me 80% of my braking power and my front brake can barely do anything in comparison. Does this mean there is something wrong, and should I check it out when I get it back from storage? If so, what should I do to it?
Also does anybody know where I can get a brake switch? The switch for my brake in the front is gone and doesn't turn on my brake light, and I CANNOT find one that fits the switch. It was a spring that compressed to make contact with the electrical circuit and trigger the brake light.

I thought I'd drop by and give my insight on this.
Indeed, your R/R is more than likely blown, causing the extreme amounts of voltage to get to your lights. To the best of my knowledge R/R's don't usually just "fail", but with anything, they can.
In the case where I wasn't getting almost any voltage to my battery about a year ago, I had a wire connected in the wrong place, ultimately blowing the R/R's I was receiving from TVnACman. Blowing them so much, that I began to get negative voltage to my battery (whoa!).
So if I were you, the first thing I would do is VERIFY ALL your wiring, and make sure it's all going to the RIGHT place. After I rectified that issue, I was getting power to my battery and all was (mostly) well.
Unfortunately all R/R's are different, so they have a tendency to give off different voltages to different things. You can have R/R's with a lot of battery charge but no lights, and vice versa. You might have to go through a few of them to find the perfect one, but I don't think TVnACman will let that happen to you, because he tests his R/R's and sends the one you need to you!
TL;DR? Verify your wiring, and then replace the R/R.

Garden hoses are the natural enemy of two wheeled vehicles. On the odd occasion that I wash my toys I use a soapy bucket to lightly lather it up and a damp clothe to get rid of the soap. I have friend who's a hose junkie and don't you know he was constantly getting water into his carburetors on his 250 Ninja. Well, sometimes you can only get some of that tough dirt from the bottom of your scooter with a high powered hose i inject 1ml of marvel mystery oil to my cable once a year using a cable oiler. marvel mystery oil eliminates water due to condensation, high humidity, rain etc. plus its an oil base and has a lubricating power. i do this on cables of my scooters, bicycles, lawnmowers etc. I should get one of those oilers...Anybody got a spare? jk

We went to go check on our Scooter's for the first time since we put them away the other day (they're in an unheated storage unit! ). Keep in mind that it is 24 degrees out while we are doing this! Anyways, went in, made sure everything is okay, but then we went to go turn the throttle...uh oh! Looks like some water got in the throttle cable before we put them away (That's what a thorough cleaning does for you ), and that water turned to ICE! Makes me wonder if there is gonna be damage to the cable when we take them out of storage this spring! We'll see! Until then, we won't be turning those throttles!

We've been trying to get this fixed, actually. The head went on fine, but the original valve cover DID not fit. We got a new valve cover and that did not fit, either. We sent the valve cover back and the seller was able to correctly mount the valve cover, so I'm thinking we got a bad head!

Hello everybody. So we're reassembling my dad's bike, and we're following the instructions to the T, unfortunately my dad refuses to continue putting it back together until he thinks everything is "perfect". Does the position of the rotating parts of the camshaft matter in relation to the camshaft assembly?
