The oil you have is perfect for your scooter. It can handle high rpms and higher temperature's as well. Under the bolt to remove the oil is a spring and a small filter. The spring does put tension on the bolt so it can seem harder to remove. Are you using a 19mm socket with a 3/8" ratchet? yes, it was very tight. I finally got it loose.

Thank you cruiser. You know, there are definitely some advantages to being male. I cannot do my oil change, not that I don't know how from the diagrams and specs. I have my ratchet wrench but I do not have the strength to loosen the plug for the oil change. I have tried and tried and it just won't budge. I don't have the strength. So, until I can get my son-in-law (who isn't home right now) or a male neighbor to make that initial turn and loosen that bolt, I am stuck. Oh well I will just have to live with being "the weaker sex". I have to live with it, but I don't have to like it. (I think they crazy glued that bolt on)

I don't know much about these things so this may be way off. But what about just using a fiberglass filler? Then sand it smooth and paint it.

I am about to do my first oil change. I have a link to the engine manual for the linhai yamaha clone 250.
It says to not use any oil with additives because the oil also lubricates the clutch and additives may cause slippage.
ANy way, I bought castrol 4 stroke motorcycle oil 10W-40 thinking it would be good. Got home and it says it has "specialized additive package that contains antioxidants, detergents, dispersants and varnish inhibitors that help prevenbt ring-sticking and build up of harmful engine deposits". Should I use this or will it hurt my 54B? Need answer fast.

Wonderful bike. We need more info though. What is the brand name? WHat is the engine size? Where did you get it? I think this concept is going to get quite popular. But, pity it is red. We all know that the blue would be faster. (With pink being fastest of them all)

Are you getting rid of the pink? I like it. What are you planning on having done?

This is why I like superiorpowersports.com. They don't drop ship. If you have a problem, they work with you. Granted, it takes a while (still waiting for my windshield but Josh assures me it will be here within 10 days, now. But at least my bike came fully assembled and has somewhat of a pdi on it. This place here seems like a typical web rip off site. Just collect the money and hang the customer.
I find it amazing how caringmgr1 managed to twist and manipulate his story to make justaguy1 sound like a raving maniac. But I could see holes through out his explanation.

It used to be, here in Ohio, that you could turn your furnace off in April and May, leave the windows open in May, enjoy spring.
This year is the same as last year. It went from cold, damp, rainy, still using the furnace to take off the chill and dampness- to hot, humid, too hot to go without the airconditioning. As far as the garden goes- too cold to put plants in the ground to too hot to be out in the middle of the day.
What is happening to our weather? I really miss spring. It is hot, humid, and about 89 degrees here.
At least the evenings are still nice. But that will only last a short while.

wow, sorry to hear it. I haven't had any problems with mine since I initally had it fixed (carb was gunked up.) Of course, I only have 200 miles on mine since it is brand new. I hope I have better luck than you did with yours. Really a shame. So, what kind of scoot are you thinking about purchasing?

OK, I know the solution for Sue problem (which is what this thread is supposed to be about) My first bike was a roketa 150 cc -mc 74. It is a lighter bike, she will be able to put both feet on the ground (my daughter is only 5 feet tall and she can put the balls of her feet on the ground- she has very short legs). And it goes 65 miles per hour. It was a good little bike. I never had any problem with it. It really does fly. It would be a good match for Sue. Sure it is cheap chinese. but it runs like crazy and seems to be a fairly well built bike.

There is a very small scooter shop about 12 miles from me that sells kymco bikes. It is quality, if I ever saw it. Just looking at the way it is put together and the finishing touches on it are so much better than my chinese B 54. I was considering buying one before I bought my 54B. Only reason I didn't was the main reason that we buy chinese. Price. It was over 4000 dollars (it was a 250 that was loaded with everything. Very nice bike. Some day, I hope to purchase this kymco bike.

I don't think I will have CROW at this time. Roketa is a CONTRACT MANUFACTURER - IMPORTS their Scoots from China also a Distributor and Wholesaler in CA, they have a huge warehouse there. Do you really think you could buy a 250 scooter for that price if it was ACTUALLY made in the U.S.A. To my knowledge there are NO SCOOTER manufacturers in the U.S.A if so look for a price around $10,000.00 or more. Alleyoop well, thank you for explaining that AlleyOop. It makes perfect sense and is what I thought when I first ordered my scooter. But according to sprocket, that link tells you where it was manufactured. So because of the way it is actually done, all I know is that it came from China, I have know way of knowing where, or who in china. And since some companies in china are reputable, and some are not, I guess I really don't know. Not so good. But the scooter is functioning well. My crow was delicious because I marinated it in olive oil, garlic and spices, and wine. Now we can get back to the subject of this thread. And the funny joke about China importing from the USA?- Don't laugh too hard. eventually it will probably happen. Not that I want it too. Some think the Bible points to China becoming a huge world power at end times and the USA becoming unstable and weak. Hope its not true but it has been predicted by some as biblical. No controversy here Only time will tell and we will probably not be around.

Mcalli, Where in the world did you get the idea that the tank was manufactured and assembled in the U.S.A? If so please put up the link of the manufacture. Alleyoop If you look under the subtitle of 50 to 200 cc engines and look up sprockets thread "who really made your scooter" you will find a nifty little tool where you type in the vin number of your scooter and the name of the manufacturer, the city and town and country will come up. Even though my bike has chinese parts, it was assembled (manufactured) in Ontario, California, usa. Read the thread, Alleyoop, and if I am misunderstanding it, let me know. here is what my vin number turned up: Roketa Inc WMI 5RY/ Address 2041 S Turner Ave Ontario CA 91761-8510, 917618510 United States Product Type Motorcycles - Complete, Street-Use Date 05 Aug, 2005 You can find out who made what scooter at this website; www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/manufacture/cLICK ON link. Check wmi box on left. Add first 3 number/letters of your vin number on box on right where it says wmi and click. It will tell you where your bike was manufactured. This link under the 50 to 200 cc bikes was provided by sprocket. So, check it out, swallow your laughter if you are incorrect, or intelligently inform me if I am wrong. BTW- I hear that "eating crow" isn't that bad if you marinate it in wine first. ;D I also thought that my bike was assembled in China until sproket provided me with this link. So let me know what you think.
