wasn't sure if this would be considered scooter related.. www.facebook.com/relaidrelaid.net/You can get alerts for 1 zip code and surrounding area free or buy a plan that gets you a bunch of zip codes. You get notification of traffic checks, accidents, road work delays, even trees down across roads. Reports are sent in by other people and then "relaid" to other users in the area. My sister passed the sight on to me, helps bunches with avoiding roads blocked due to accidents and downed trees. I don't care about the DUI checkpoints cause I stay at home when I want a drink.

If I remember right, fireworks are to symbolize rockets that were launched for the colonies when we gained our independence. I think that's what I learned "back in the day" but I might be wrong. I think one of the signers of the Declaration wanted a big celebration with parades and all, and he arranged for 13 rockets to be launched, 1 for each colony.

There are actually quite a few of them around the country. They are to promote breast cancer awareness. I know Charlotte NC has one, and another somewhere in the Triad (Greensboro/High Point/Winston Salem). This particular truck is called "Patricia" and was painted in 2012. It belongs to a neighboring county.

Here are some of my favs, a couple old trucks and one very unusual truck. We use a system known as "mutual aid". If you look at the department names you'll notice that any given department has only 1 or 2 trucks here. Mutual aid means they are watching over other districts so every department can participate. Also, you might notice that each department has a 2# designation, like department 25 is Cricket VFD. So all their truck numbers start with 25. "Patricia" from Iredell County
Brush buggy this is an 80's model Humvee Cricket FD logo Broadway FD memory truck Only snorkel in the county Goshen still uses this old truck for fires Old truck from my community used once in a while for fires, in spite of its age Used for accidents/injuries in really rugged terrain

Round here we have a parade for the 4th as well as fireworks. Parade started at 6 pm & wound through both towns and ended maybe a half hour before the fireworks started at 9pm. Met up with my youngest sister and some of her friends so I helped ride herd on a bunch of kids under 6. Made a couple runs on Toi to a nearby groc store when the kids wanted popsicles and we needed more drinks. Every parking lot was full and if one them left in their car, their space woulda been gone. Me, I zipped off and when I came back I just parked Toi in between 2 of the cars no problem.
I'll post some pixs from the parade, it's all rescue vehicles, mostly fire trucks but we had a couple police cars and wreckers/rollbacks. See if you can figure out which fire truck is the coolest and most unusual.

I am absolutely so pissed right now. I didn't see Loki before the seizure started because I was inside getting clothes washing but when I went inside he was asleep less than a foot away from my scoot IN MY parking area. I park my scoot several feet from the driveway. Neighbor hollering at me is how I found out. Well one of the neighbor's kids asked me last night if Loki was OK after his mom ran him over. So Loki suffered and died because my neighbor drove through my parking area instead of the driveway. If I'd known about that, I'd got him to a vet. My son also pointed out one leg was hanging funny after he died, I didn't think anything about it then cause I was too upset but now I realize it was probably broken after her SUV ran over him. At least I know he'll be waiting for me one day. My grandpa always said we'd see our loved ones in heaven so I believe that critters go to heaven too, after all, most of them are innocent. But his death was painful and absolutely unnecessary. And she won't even come over and apologize. I won't confront her cause I know if I do, I'll say something I'll regret and could get tossed outta here for causing problems.

Something like this but made to tow other motorcycles/scooters would be perfect. That I could understand. Tried looking it up and a couple web pages said they been in use in Asia for 5 yrs but also saw claims that the Swedish company that created them has gone bankrupt.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me a bit to register and tag my scooter BUT if I get treated like I have a regular vehicle then I want cops to ticket people for passing me on double yellow lines. It would not be fair to be treated as a "motor vehicle" when it makes the state money but not when it comes to enforcing laws. I know a guy who rides a legally tagged/insured 150 cc scoot and idiots pass him on double yellow all the time. He used to own a motorcycle and sold it when it became hard to find parts (It was an old BSA)
Asked him why he got a scoot over a newer motorcycle and he said it was a matter of a few things. 1. Automatic shift 2. Repairs - He can work on it himself, cost of parts, interchangeability of parts 3. Scooter weighs a whole lot less than comparable motorcycles 4. Less pollution from his scoot than a motorcycle (just his opinion). 5. Cost of the ride and insurance
