You might also want to have one big enough to carry your helmet and any riding gear you may want to leave in the trunk while at work. That may include gloves, leather jacket, chaps, whatever. If you have enough room at work then carry them inside if you want. Right now I leave my helmet and gloves in the trunk when not riding. Just be sure to lock the trunk when not riding and using the trunk for storage of items. .

My tank was leaking through the sensor. It is the one that enters about half way up the tank. Rather than order a new sensor I cleaned off the outside of the sensor and then applied some oil resistant gasket material seal. I think it is Permatex black. Well, it has been there for about 3 months now and still not leaking.
I also have made an inner seal earlier out of gas tank cork material. It worked but the leak continued so I then looked at the sensor itself.
So if it is near the sensor then look at both the inner tank seal and the area around the connector. .

Nice looking scoot. Water cooled but has a flat floor. Would have liked that over my current humped floor on the 2008 Chinese made Rocketa 250. I like the larger wheels too.
My problem would be the wheel base of 55". I saw that before I ordered what I have as it has a 65" wheel base. I sat on many different scoots before ordering what I have. Seemed awful short as my knees kept arguing with the front panel. Those extra 10" fixed that problem. .

Thanks Bashan. Probably never met as you are unfamiliar with Club 224 and I am not familiar with the Legion. But I was aware that lots of folks did go there.
Interesting story of yours about the bar in Toledo. .

Club 224 mean anything to you? One of your group from Sycamore OH? Maybe we met many years back. But maybe you were in a special group like private parties or polka style. .

Bashan, your home town is Toledo. My home town is Tiffin, about 45 miles south and east of Toledo. After I grew up and spent some time in the Army I realized there were better climates than that of northern Ohio. My favorite time in Ohio for me has been late August, September, and part of October. The rest of the year is divided between freezing your butt off, windy weather, hot and humid with a few tornado's to keep you excited. .

That is why center stand and adjust till the wheel starts turning then back off till the wheel stops turning is important. Far better to have a setting that works and not some specific number that may not work. .

When you have time at home. On the center stand, start engine. Allow to run until it heats up and settles down to what ever speed it wants. I like to wait long enough for the engine to be at road temps. On my machine I have water cooling so I wait till the fan has come on before I start to make adjustments. Then check the idle and reset till the rear wheel just starts to spin. Then back down till the wheel stops spinning. It is a feel for the right place to be.
Make an adjustment and wait for a bit too allow the machine to decide what it wants to do. Make another small adjustment and wait again. Going too fast with carb adjustments does not give the machine time to settle down. .

I often wonder who puts those decals on the side body panels. Is it Rocketa or the sellers, dealers, of the scooters. Look to the Rocketa pictures and they don't have decals on the side body panels. Maybe it is the dealers that are messing things up so badly. .

I see this comment more and more on these scooter forums. This is a Rocketa 54 250B with a horizontal engine. To me this is very confusing as I have a Rocketa 54 250(B) on the side panel. I look to the Rocket web site and find this to be true of them. First the Rocketa MC-54-250(LJ4,L8Y) www.roketa.com/product/product_support.jsp?cateID=2610&sonCateID=0&proID=2658Scroll down and look at the engine assembly. It looks to be a verticle engine. Now to the Rocketa MC-54B-250(5RY) www.roketa.com/product/product_support.jsp?cateID=2610&sonCateID=0&proID=27312Scroll down to the engine assembly and it is of the horizontal engine. To me then it is proper for the people to say they have the 54B for the horizontal engine. I don't know why some have the 250B, mine does, and it is with a vertical engine. Seems to me that Rocketa should have the proper designations for their products. Maybe there are different importers that use different designations from what Rocketa uses. Thoughts from those more experienced than I am? .

I have a 250cc MC-54-250 Rocketa imported Chinese built scooter. Also titled as a motorcycle by Colorado. I expect that when I finally get it transfered to Arizona it will still be called a motorcycle. It has plates, insurance, I need a helmet in Colorado but optional in Arizona. I need a helmet for my own protection as my skull has been damaged by a surgeon when he took my head apart to be able do dig out a brain tumor. Five years ago for that and doing fine today but I am afraid to kiss the pavement without a helmet on first.
To me the entire scooter industry is a bit confused. Much of the stuff is called as mopeds. Mopeds are like a bike, they have pedals and you can ride them like a bike or turn on the motor that will help you go or even run the bike for you. There are mopeds around but they certainly don't look like or run like these scooters. I like to call them a step through motorcycle.
That is my rant about these overpowered devices some call mopeds. How in the heck would anyone pedal one of these machines home if the motor or drive fails? .

Cruizer, interesting as I had posted an update to my post last night. But now it is not there. Don't know why.
I had also suggested filling from the overflow tank. My reason for using the top of the radiator is to keep the radiator full so there would be no air bubbles being sucked through the system. And if the radiator is low you can not fill it from the overflow tank. My update was below the normal post and headed - UPDATE to add the following. Typed and saved. But not here this morning.
But you see we are a bit different on the never open the radiator cap. .

I have a YY250T and when you look at the overflow tank by the gas tank, there is a narrow window down the side of the bottle. It should actually be about half full in the window when the system is stabilized and cool. If low add to the under seat radiator opening. As the radiator heats with running it will get pushed to the overflow tank and when it cools it can be recaptured to the radiator. Same as on cars.

My final effort has ended. I did put some washers under the screws that would shift the light path more toward the center. It helped but did not fix the problem. I tried at 25 foot distance and still had the cross eyed problem. Dropped the distance to 10 feet for sharper patterns and got the the lights both pretty much straight ahead. But I could not get enough swing to have them both just a tad right of the center line. So I went back to the 25 foot distance and they were still not right of center line. But they were both on high beam level and pretty much straight ahead. Then I made my courageous decision, I quite.
Tomorrow I will finish the plastics and windshield. Now looking for cooler days so I can get back to riding again. Also need to get the scoot registered in Arizona and need to have the scoot with me. Arizona would not accept the title registration from Colorado. So they insist I bring it in for the ownership exam and verification. Arizona claims that my VIN does not appear in the data base but Colorado says it is there to be viewed. So one of them must be wrong. So I guess it won't hurt to have it examined again. .

I have also dropped a depth gauge into my gas tank a long time ago. It was a long wire, with plastic cover that I used to compare the depth in the tank with the guage readings. It will stay there until the next time I have to strip the deck pad off and expose the tank. Then I may take the tank out and clear it of any and all items in there.
For you, if the hose is gas safe there is probably no problem but the loss of a few ounces of gas in the tank. But you could put it in your next tear down justification list. .
