Thanks jjoshua. Thats my weekend project now. I will surely update you with the good news of my success! NP. I hope everything goes accordingly. The cy50a is my favorite 50cc class bike. The rpm gauge is great for tuning, its comfortable and can fit 2 ppl. And it handles nice. Not to mention it has a 42mm piston vs. the stock 39mm everyone else is riding on. The steering column commonly gets loose so beware. It also has a plug by the headlight area to hook up and alarm/remote start system. Its plug and play no wire matching, and the alarms are cheap! Like under 50 bucks. You just have to have a good battery and use the bike every or every other day to avoid a dead battery. I used a 12v 8.6ah 150 CCA. I would say the installation takes about 10 mins and is as easy as changing a light bulb. If you have any questions about the bike feel free to ask.

Got rid of the bike already, but it wasn't difficult to make. Slid the boots on and mounted the connectors. I had taken them from one of the other wires. I used to do connections like that all the time. And this is not any 'ole speaker wire. I'm talking 12 gauge insulated and shielded cable, the kind used by bands on stage. Why not just but an ngk wire? I've never had a problem with those

So i've seen both plugs in various gy6's
I'v also seen the non-resistor version of both plugs in gy6's
Whats the difference?
I've seen both types in NGK and other brands.
Which is better? They can't be the same or else they would have the same model #.

A 50cc clutch will fit in a 150 and vice versa?

www.eagleatvparts.com/That's the dealer for tao tao parts. Just click on scooter, then cy50-a on the next page and it shows you all the parts. You should only have to replace the one side. You may find the same part cheaper on ebay... I had a cy50-a with the same problem. I liked it like that though. Cops can't say you were speeding then hit your breaks. Its saved my arse plenty of times. Its easy to install, just put it back on the same way you took it off

If you blow another belt try replacing your clutch. (Assuming you already inspected the variator and spun it on the crankshaft to check for resistance)
Every Time I had belts go back to back I replaced the clutch and never had to change the belt again.

So i've been having intermittent starting problem. I changed the carb and had the same problem...
So I went to check the plug and it looked worn but not too bad "2013" bike
I got the bike non-running so I assume its been ran for half of its manufacture life.
Anyway, I pulled the plug and cleaned it.
No start since then.
After checking everything i'm assuming weak or no spark is the issue so I pulled the plug, but put it in the plug boot and began to try to start it in search of a spark.
Normally when I do this test I touch the threaded or electrode to metal and I see a spark jump the electrode gap..
However, I see no spark, but when I remove the plug from metal slightly I see a spark from the metal to the plug.
Is my plug bad?

Sorry but that is the WORST seller to get scooter parts from. They are sh*t. I've wasted a LOT of money because of that person. All the heads from him failed in less than 1 month. I've even received dirty and rusty parts.(Not at the same time) I had so many problems I was starting to doubt my knowledge. I wised up and started trying other sellers and never had a problem since. Don't buy from "02starrider" You will regret it.
Oh and yea its either bore the case or try the 47mm.

Is it a "pressure" gauge or a "temp" gauge, because your post says "pressure" and the item says "Temp"

Sorry bud, you have a ring or more going. The smoke is just a warning sign. Watch your oil consumption closely. Its going to have to be rebuilt in the next month if you ride it alot.
If i'm correct you will feel more air than normal and a little oil coming from your breather tube. As the problem progresses you will noticeably see oil coming from the breather tube. If its plugged into the air filter I would take it out and plug the hole on the box until you fix the problem. the oil will clog air flow and make running conditions worse.
Had it been a high milage engine you would be fine as were and tear is normal, but its not high milage. Something went wrong.

Ita a tao tao cy50-a
The bike went down a couple times, but I took the current part from another identical bike to replace the old one witch had the same problem.
Is won't tighten, as if the circumference of the handle bar is smaller than the grip.
It would easily slid off the handle bar if wires weren't attached
Any suggestions/reasons to this problem?
I know i'm assembling it right because i've taken it off before to replace the cable with no problems

How about the KILLSWITCH is it in the RUN POSITION. Do your brake lights come on when you squeeze the brakes? Alleyoop If you ensured everything listed above, your starter solenoid went out. Happened to me same bike same model, just 2012. Try this! Get something metal. Open the seat and look for the solenoid. Tough the two bolts together. That WILL make your starter move whether the key is in or not, just make sure battery is connected. If your starter won't move when touching the two bolts together, you starter is dead(Doubt it) or you have a wire problem The solenoid is cheap and easy to change. May even be easier then changing the spark plug. Looking at the bike front to back the solenoid should be on the frame to the right of the bike
