I have a small, almost cafe racer, windshield for summer riding on my 250, and wear a modular full face, so I can use the visor to control the wind on my face. If the weather looks like rain for a few days, I put my larger, wintertime shield on. If you have access to some lexan, you might experiment with building some shorter windshields. The large ones can be big sails in the wind..

+1 on the above. What year, model, and how many miles? Do you know the history, if you are not first owner?

rear tire could be way underinflated.. you would be surprised how much it can make the front feel squirrly...

"Scootorcycles" I like that, as a catchall for anything between the traditional "scooter" and the traditional motorcycle. Does give the short answer to the question I most often get on my 250 scuiser. I'll use it.. Thanks Bashan! And yeah, that Sachs is even harder to categorize, cause it isn't really a scooter by definition, but looks more "scooterish" than motorcycle.

As has been mentioned in several threads, scooters are dividing into subclasses, just like motorcycles.. I have taken the liberty to propose a simple naming convention for these classes..

Moped?

yup, moped = motor+pedals. US DOT says a scooter has a step through design and floorboards on which to place the feet, instead of pegs. Which is why there are some 650 and up "scooters". wouldn't wanna have to pedal those around, some of 'em are over 600lbs.

Moped?

"Scooter" is appropriate. Moped is just funny. Might buy from them, but wouldn't want 'em working on my stuff..

I added a radio to mine to be more noticable. I think loud exhaust just irritates motorists, usually cause it drowns out their stereos in the car and usually only when stopped at lights. Reflective striping and road awareness serve you better.

Bought new riding boots. Pulled up in a parking lot. Put the side stand down. Unfortunately, the tread pattern in the bottom of my boot exactly fits the little ball end on my side stand. When I pull my leg back up, it raised the side stand. I lean the bike over to park and it continues on it's way. Red faced, but can't really feel that it's entirely my fault.

Near death

Please.. originally $10,000, their price $7000, and will sell it to me for $3000. Looks nice, but that is just "Crapvertising". Even if it is a great scooter at the $3000 price, the over inflated "original" price would make me look elsewhere. If they are going to lie to me in the ad, I gotta figure they will lie about everything else.. The Morphous? Well, hate to be the defender on this, but the style killed it for american sales. I don't think I've ever read about drive system problems. Probably as dependable as the Helix or Reflex. Given a choice between Helix, Morphous, or Majesty in the same price range, brand wouldn't be the deciding factor..

This reminds me of the man who opened the door for the feminist. She immediately went on a rant that she was an able bodied person who had no need to be objectified and treated as the weaker sex. After she finished, he simply looked at her and said "I opened the door for you not because you are a lady, for I have no way of knowing that, but because I am a gentleman." I don't wave because they are "real" riders, I have no way of knowing that. I wave because I am a rider. Or I'll give a tip of the head, if I'm busy. And, often, either on the scooter, or on the 1200, I'll give a thumbs up to the smaller scooter rider who is actually dressed to ride.

My best guess? Looks like a friend helping a friend move a refrigerator from one house to another, hopefully not to far away. Stupidly, dangerously dumb. Hopefully, the only bad result is a lesson in physics. But... I done worse..and gotten away with it.

Good looking style. You are right, tons of 2008s still selling as new. My roketa is a 2008, bought new in 2012. No mechanical problems, just the usual cheap plastics, but still a good ride. I don't think that you will experience any special problems due to the year. Just the regular pdi stuff..
