It's just starting to thaw here...like, 45 degree days at the most. Not exactly scooter weather yet. Everybody's scooter is still in storage...

I owned a 1980 passport 70cc I was king of the hill next to the Aero 50's . Check the gas tank for rust , fuel starvation could be the cause . That bike has breaker points and sloted base to manipulate timing . I would look at the carb again . I definitely think fuel starvation is the cause here...my best guess is that the carb got clogged up to hell again when we put it back on, seeing how the gas was god knows how old (it was orange...and so was the oil...). From what I can tell, however, is that the 1983 Passport should not have points, it has a CDI. I don't see any points on this bike anywhere..

Well, long time no see, Scooter docs! I've missed you guys! But it looks like when the scooters are away for storage, I don't need to come on here too often for help! But it looks like its just about time to break the scooters back out of their storage place, since its warming up (thank goodness..)!!!!
Anywho, my brother has just recently picked up a 1983 Honda C70 Passport, in pretty darn good shape! But I've researched some things about this bike, and I'm wondering if any of you have any opinions on it...when we first got it, the darn thing wouldn't run whatsoever, but it does run now.
If you know anything about the C70, its got an automatic clutch but you have to shift it manually, and thats where we're running into problems. The thing shifts, but absolutely BOGS at full throttle, even when we just completely cleaned he carb. It will free rev in neutral just fine, but the moment you bring it out of neutral and put it under load, it starts to miss even at half throttle, and just about dies at full throttle.
Anybody have any experience with these things?

The worst I've ever been in is going down on gravel at a couple miles per hour thanks to potholes, just scratched up my scooter a bit. The worst I've witnessed was my brother who hit a small jump on his Honda Elite 80 going 40 MPH, then hit the ground sideways and was drug by his bike for 79 feet. I can still go back and see the damage to the bridge to this day.

My scooter has been stashed in storage for close to 4-5 months now..last year before we put them away I was able to prep my scooter properly but this year I never got that chance, my scooter had to go straight into storage, so I have this feeling it won't be like last year where I got it out and it's two kicks and running.. ?not to mention the darn thing has the wrong oil in it, I switched it out for the wrong oil before storage. Whoops. Better remember to change that straight 40 out..

I'm using IE 11 and Windows 7 and would like to clean up my Favorites List by removing unwanted links. When I still had Windows NE, so many years ago, I had a free ware program that I could select a folder from the favorites list, such as Scooters, and select a link, open and explore it, and then choose to save or delete it. The program would then return to the Scooters folder where I could select another link and on until I was done with that folder before moving on to another if desired. It made the process of house cleaning the favorites list much easier than doing it one baby step at a time but it was lost with that hard drive. I'm wondering if any of you know of such a program, even if there is a small fee. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Internet Explorer has never been that good with favorites/bookmarks, unfortunately, and none of the major browsers have this feature to the best of my knowledge. Due to the lack of a program that can do what you're requesting, it would almost be a good idea to just Ctrl-Select (Multiselect) the bookmarks you do not want and erase them that way. As for exploring them before you get rid of them, well, that's an entirely different matter. If you don't know what bookmarks you want to get rid of, you can just open the favorites bar in IE and click through them. If you don't want that bookmark, press delete! Sorry I don't know which program you're talking about. I'll see if I can't find it, and report back. By the way, you must have a TON of bookmarks to have to complain about not knowing which ones to get rid of (my brother is that way, he doesn't even have folders, just a long list of about 1000+ bookmarks that he just scrolls through every time he wants to get to one of his bookmarks!)

Tumors in general suck at this point...Cancer has taken enough from me in my lifetime. I can't say that I regret putting her to sleep, after all, she was suffering. I know that. So while it makes me feel good that she is not suffering, it's just weird not having her here. The house seems...emptier.

Today was not a day too soon. She is rapidly getting worse. Come 3:30, she won't be in pain anymore. We originally had her scheduled to be put down at 12:30, but the vet that we scheduled with only had a one-stage euthanasia, compared to the more human 2-stage. So 3:30 it is.

Today is the last day for our dog, Rosie. Rosie has a very severe tumor and type of cancer, and it would be torture to keep her here on this earth. We will be putting her down tomorrow morning. Today and tomorrow will be very bad days. Have a better day than I am, everybody.

Ah yes, the throttle. I've had my share of issues with the throttle. Luckily for you, this part is very simple to replace (not like my throttle CABLE snapping in two pieces). I unfortunately could not find a metal version of it, but this is the part you need: www.amazon.com/Scooter-Moped-125cc-Throttle-Control/dp/B005ICGRHUIt's very very easy to fix, just take off the front plastic that is covering the black metal securing plates (This thing: i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDUwWDYwMA==/$%28KGrHqVHJDMFBl,wYNM-BQj3%28bSwlQ::60_35.JPG), it is held on by one screw. Pull the old throttle out, and swap the new one in. Reinstall. It can be a bit tricky at first, but you'll get it!

I hear ya. I like the inner working of my '51 Chevy the best. So simple it was easier than most of my motorcycles. There was no Tupperware to remove to get to the mechanics. No electronics. Oh well. I guess the older the car, the easier it would be to disassemble, there wasn't as much fancy paneling to make things look nice. I already ordered a new window regulator, so hopefully it will be here soon. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the door panel off and all, but I can't stand the fact that something isn't working properly! Nah, I got my parts from RockAuto, new regulator without motor was $27, + $7 shipping. $35 out the door, and I'm happy. The installation is going to be the tough part, because of the rivets, and because we will probably have to get a rivet gun.

My brother came home today and told me that the power window in our car gave out. The window came about halfway down and then the cable housing for the regulator gave way. Of course I didn't find this out immediately..I had to... 1. Pull the plastic off the door handle 2. Remove the screw behind the door handle 3. Remove the screws holding the door panel in place on the bottom and top 4. Remove door panel 5. Remove door panel insulation, 6. Remove window regulator bolts 7. Unscrew the window regulator from the motor And then I found that out. The whole half an hour to figure out that we had a bad window regulator just reminded me about just how simple our scooters are. Engine not running? 4 bolts, seat removed, one more bolt, complete fuel delivery system removed (carb). You try to remove the complete fuel delivery system in a car...you won't. Not within a reasonable amount of time, anyways. Either way, now we need a new window regulator (thank god the motor still works), and it's going to be a pain to install (the regulator is attached via rivets, and so is the glass). Until then, the car can go without a door panel, and that window can stay shut! Also the switches can hang out too, doesn't matter too much to me.

Also I do computer tune-ups remotely for $35, so if you want me to do that, I can get your computer back to tip-top shape! Just give me a call (248-630-6722) if you're interested.

Well in terms of getting your computer speed up, make sure you don't have a lot of background processes running at startup. If you're running Windows, you can configure your startup items by running MSCONFIG from the start menu (just type it in) and going to the startup tab. Other than that, a cleanup of all things you don't use from your hard drive and then a defragmentation will do you good if it hasn't been done in a LONG time. And you can text from your computer, use a free web service like Textfree.
