Thats a shortcase you have . A longcase would need at least a 835-20-30 or a 842-20-30 belt. My 05 roketa has the longcase with 835 belt. I know this because of the work I did in mid march ( new crankshaft, a9 cam) on mine. Bill C.

Variator Weights would be a good place to start once your scooter is back to stock Each scooter is different. The setup I have on mine may not work for you. One has to keep at it till its where you want it. Bill C.

Last week I found out that my scoot doesn't like the 13gr sliders that I stuck in. I had to put back in the koso 15gr rollers ( purchased from scrappydog in mid march) after taking a short scoot to the store. Please note I have an A9 cam installed aswell but everything else minus the airfilter is stock. With the 13gr sliders in , the engine rpms were much much higher taking off from a stop and at full throttle I was only able to hit about 45mph max . With the 15gr rollers in, my scooter responds better at lower rpm's and takes right off . Topend is improved aswell . My belt is a gates 835 on a longcase 150cc engine. Bill C.

idle adjustment screw in too much ?? That also would keep your idle rpms too high as your describing !! Bill C.

I think my variator and or bushing is done with. I was getting abit of racket coming up from it the last couple of days. This afternoon I replaced the 15gr rollers with the 13gr sliders but was still getting noise from the assembly . The variator itself is a tad loose on the bushing that goes on the crankshaft aswell. The engine rpms were higher when I put the 13gr in aswell . That I didn't like !! Would replacing the variator help stop the noise ? Any help would be much appreciated. One more note: I readjusted my valves yesterday aswell. Bill C.

For the better ! I had mine replaced last year when I first bought my scoot (MC-27) ! More air in to the carb ! Better performance . Adjusting the carb after replacement will be needed . Bill C.

engine type markings ? That can be found underneath on left crankcase below where the variaitor / transmission cover is, Should be marked like 152qmi or 157qmj . 152qmi is 125cc , 157qmj is 150cc . The 2 are pretty much the same mechanicaly but with different cylinders and piston sizes. Bill C.

Have you chatted with a locksmith ? They may be able to get a master key made, if you can remove and give them the entire ignition key mechanism . That would mean taking the front cowling off your scooter to get at it. Bill C.

Impact wrench is your best friend ! If you remove the retaining front nut on the variator face to install your belt, make d#@$ sure you get the nut threaded on right, when you reinstall it or you will learn the hardway like I did and strip the threading out ! Bill C.
